Where would you do it? Ebay, MtgTrader, Yahoo, people in your area, a Store, or some other random place. I always wondered where the best place to go would be. I am borderline still playing, but this game is so damned addictive.
I have pretty much everything now and keep thinking to myself "Damn, that's a hell of a house payment."
I was going to see how much I could get for everything and decide on whether or not I want to just stop paying rent. Prob is I really love this game and to get out of it, it would have to be a really good turnover.

cardshark.com is a great place to sell random junk, although they get 15% commission compared to Ebay's 5%.
If you have something good do Ebay, if its random junk, cardshark.com. Also when do you need the money? Ebay is probably the fastest aside from finding people at your local stores. PTQs are good places to sell also.

Matt: Sounds like something I wanna be a part of - where do I sign up?
I would only put something on eBay if I had a feedback of over 1000, and even then, it's a lot of work just to put up with ignorant people. There really does need to be an IQ test to sign on to the internet.
For example, I sell about 300 items a week +, and I will routinely get a check in the mail with a letter that states the following:
Dear eBay Seller,
Here is the payment for my auction. Thanx! I look forward to getting it.
- Signed, Clueless
What's missing here is clearly the item number, item title, or even amount (since the check combines with the shipping).
The obvious positive of selling stuff on eBay is the sometimes outrageous closing bids. If you have moderate feedback on eBay, expect to get slightly better for your auctions than you would selling them to someone at your shop, since there's always someone out there who wants it more.

I was kind of hoping there was a better place since all of my stuff is big stuff. I have close to 4 sets of just about everything up to Urza's Saga and playsets of all the decent rares after that. I just don't like dealing on Ebay with all the idiots.
It's still debate though. This game has been nothing been fun since the early days. I even had fun back in the black summer (Titania's Song for the win!). It's just looking at those folders of sets up there and thinking what kind of car you could buy for each one starts really eating at you after a while. lol eh, I'll probably still be playing in 2010.

At one point I had to make the choice of fixing the brakes on my car, or buying a signed/altered Ancestral Recall. Guess which I spent my money on.
And everyone else has brakes. I've been fine so far!

I would say Ebay would be the best place. But, I would also say just save your money to buy a car, and keep the cards Off-topic:This is going in my sig At one point I had to make the choice of fixing the brakes on my car, or buying a signed/altered Ancestral Recall. Is that legal anymore, though, Azhrei? I thought that trades and card sales over the forum or in the chat room were now prohibited? Obviously, that still leaves tournaments, but unless he's attending one of the big tournaments, that gives him a much smaller cross-section of the community to whom to sell. Furthermore, he's already noted that he's looking to get top dollar for his cards -- as much as I'd like to help a brutha' out, I know that when I pick up my high-end Vintage material, it will be the crappiest, bargain-basement cards I can find.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I think that's two people so far who have quoted entirely different things in their signatures from my posts in this thread alone. I feel honored. I think a trade forum would be a good thing to have - keeping the power in the community is a great idea.

With good feedback eBay is easily the way to go. There is a minor hassle factor but thats to be expected to some extent with any type of online transaction of this nature. But I did get $850 for my UL slightly played Lotus where I would have only gotten maybe $600-700 locally.

heh, I do see you guys at the bigger tourneys though I never play the standard stuff. I'm always the guy trying to revive a reanimator or some other such rogue junk. I just can't help giving people big giant things to deal with on the 1st or sec turn. I play slaver locally, go figure.
I think the last time I actually took a number 1 spot was way back when vampiric was unresticted with my bazaar reanimator in 1.5. Nicol Bolas for the win. That was a Gencon though.
Last time I played in a sanctioned tourney was Urza's block constructed at a pre-qualifier. Thanks to Eric Taylor for the Bargain help. Too bad it was expected more than I thought. Oh well.
Look out though, I can play with "thing from the deep" now come october lol
