Recently, I posted a thread which has brought to my attention one fact: how little I am liked within this community. The focus of this thread was to exemplify how much I enjoyed participating with the members of TMD, using my post count as an example of this. Between carefully crafted putdowns, and not one sincerely encouraging letter, I realized that I don't actually want to participate on this site any longer. I honestly can't believe that a post that said "I really like TMD, and I hope to continue posting here for a lot longer" was flamed to the point where the thread could no longer stay open. I'm sure those of you who did decide to hurl a whole whack of negativity in my direction have a complex stream of reasoning as to why they decided to be jerks, but the fact remains that they have made me feel like I no longer belong on this forum.

To anyone who cares,

Goodbye

Good riddance if you're going to act like a whiny first-grader who's sick of being beaten on by a bunch of second-graders.

The thing I don't get is: was this guy actively degraded, or was he looking for positive reinforcement and found none?

Making nothing posts to celebrate ones post count is frowned upon. I'd like to think that making nothing posts to abuse someone for doing something that is frowned upon is also frowned upon (how often do we see admonitions to 'leave it to the moderators'?)...

See for yourself.

I had originally closed the thread, but after quite a few PMs from Alfred, I reopened it temporarily.

I don't think it's the fact that nobody likes you, it just happens that threads about how large your post count is are frowned upon.

The TMD moderators don't want spam threads on their forums, and that's what a thread about your post count essentially is, spam.

If your going to leave because of the rules, I don't know what to say but, goodbye.

At one point I had to make the choice of fixing the brakes on my car, or buying a signed/altered Ancestral Recall.  Guess which I spent my money on.
And everyone else has brakes.  I've been fine so far!
