Milano - 5-Proxy Event - TPS-UBg Wins!

I don't have any data of this ( unluckily ) little event for now, but I'm sending my lackeys all over the world to obtain what I need... Very Happy

I can only report to you the allmighty plays of our local-combo-player-hero: Pietro Cavalletti aka Elric.

He can always top8.
Usually an astonishing unluck kick him and his deck after the first match of his usual top8s.

This time he won defeating his worst enemy: himself after the 8 o'clock PM.

I hope to try to catch every detail he left me with my report.
I ALWAYS have good time and good hints reading what he wrote on our sites.

While the "simple games for a combo deck" were badly covered, he could touch the most important actions during the more interesting ones.

Props to his memory.

Turn1 - T1Tog
Game 1
Both of them trades Duresses for opponent's Counterspells without doing nothing special for at least 3 turns.
During turn 4 they both have one card in hand. TPS had Ancestral while T1T had an "xYz's" one. He topdecked Tinker. TPS responded with Ancestral which showed him no FoW but Gift and Lotus. Tinker resolved for DSC but TPS resolved Gift for 3 Tutors and Mana Vault which find Y Will for the win.
Game 2
TPS played a first turn FoW on opponent's Duress to hide Xantid and Necro. He resolved Xantid and then Necropotence the following turn thanks to it. T1T had a full hand with Drains, Duresses and Wishes. Both of them countered the opponent's without doing nothing especial.
TPS was really low on life and T1T resolved an Atog remaining without cards in hand. TPS resolved a Mind's Desire for 4 spells, while holding his Tendrils on hand. A single acceleration would have won him the game, but he flipped over 2 lands and 2 clunky spells and die to the opponents' Atog the following turn.
Game 3
Both of them deprived opponent's hand of bombs and spells. At some point, both of them had zero cards in hand but T1T topdecked Tinker for DSC and won.

Turn2 - RedBlackHate
Game1
Necro resolved during his first turn and his victory followed during his second one
Game 2
This time Hate.dec resolved Pillar, CotV for 1, Rod and started beating TPS with a medium sized Nantuko Shade. TPS starded taking damages both from Shade and Pillar but he stabilize at 1 life point after having resolved his 3 bouncers and won with a single Tendril for 20 precise damages

Turn3 - UB-Control
Game
TPS mulliganed down to 4 seeing no land during the 12 turns that took his opponent for the win.
Game 2
UB-Control started with Duress and CotV for 0. TPS tried H Recall and the opponent countered it. TPS tried Chain of Vapour and opponent FoWilled his bouncer. The next turn UB.Control topdecked Ancestral but TPS responded with a tricky Gift Ungiven: Misdi-FoW-Ritual-Necro. Opponent gave him Ritual and Necro sure of being able to resolve his Ancestral because of Elric's cards choices. OTOH, Elric FoWilled his Ancestral and resolved Necro next turn, winning the entire game thanks to it.
Game 3
UB-Control beated TPS down to 2 life points thanks to his Mishras and Elric's Mana Crypt. During his last EoT, TPS resolved a gift Ungiven for some accelerations and resolved a medium sized Mind's Deisre, winning with all the other spells played after it.

Turn4 - GayRed
Game 1
TPS take out Fish's FoW with his first turn Duress. Fish played a first turn Rod and proceeded to topdeck Daze, countering with it opponent's Necro and a Standstill to recover a bit. At 1 life point, TPS had to bounce 2 rod. He Mystically tutored for Chain and bounced the first one, then played Walk and Chained the second one. With some acceleration and a full grave he loaded his hand into the table and win with an huge Y WIll.
Game 2
Fish played a quick sequence of Pillar, Rods and Shamans, ReBing all the opponent's tempatives to bounce some of them back in order to combo him out safely. TPS could only play some spells and produce a medium sized Tendrils of Agony for 12 damages when he was at 1 life point. Then Shaman started eating his Moxen and slowly beating him down again. TPS had only 3 basic lands in play and an uncastable 6cc spell into his hand. At some point, Fish tried to resolve his Pillar and TPS responded resolving Wish for Dark Ritual. Then TPS played Brainstorm to find something good and rise a bit the spells' count and finding ToAx2 and another Ritual and winning at 1 life point again.

Then, TPS played Ritual Ritual Demonic Tutor for FoW and then Necropotence. Landstill played Daze for which TPS paid his last mana and then FoW on Necro. TPS played the tutored FoW on opponent's one and won two turn later.

TPS played a safe little ToA for 10 and then Walked into ANOTHER ToA for 12 killing his opponent

TPS chained Rod and resolved Bargain next turn

Hate played CotV for 0 but TPS FoWilled it
TPS load all his hand having 7 mana at his disposal since his second turn.
Hate played Rod and another CotV for 1 during his second turn and a Pillar on his third and a Negator on his 4th. TPS bounced back opponents CotV and then, at 4 life points, bounced back both Pillar and Rod going down to 2. TPS Demonic Tutored for Rebuild, he rebuilded all the mana into his hand, played a fetchland, went down to 1 life point and played a tendril for 20 damages winning the entire tourney with it.

He had some "techs" into hsi sideboard.
He played with Xantid Swarm into to bring it in during the Control Matchups, with Mystic Remoras for the Combo Mirrors and with Withered Wretched to play against Tog, Slavery and Dragon.
