~Name~
{G}
Sorcery

As an additional cost to play ~this~, sacrifice a nonbasic land.
Search your library for two basic land cards and put them into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.

At first glance, this looks a lot like Harrow. Unlike Harrow, however, it must sacrifice a nonbasic land, puts the basics into play tapped, and occurs at Sorcery speed. In exchange, of course, it costs {2} less.

Looks a fair harrow-off-spin. I'm not too sure about a name.

It should really be 1G to be in keeping with modern costing. That'd be a little underpowered, but I think at G it's too good. You can easily cast this first turn.

It's a good accelerator, but to be played first turn, it requires a nonbasic land that does not come into play tapped and which produces green mana. There are many nonbasics that come into play tapped, but relatively few that don't (let's disregard true duals, for the moment). Furthermore, many of the ones that come into play untapped are not particularly good. Sure, there are good ones, like Llanowar Wastes and Yavimaya Coast. On the other hand, there are also Tranquil Garden and Pinecrest Ridge. To really make the most of this card, you'll probably have to play with a mix of optimal and suboptimal two-lands, plus enough basics to make this card worthwhile. I think that much of its power is going to be diverted into simply offsetting the weakness of cards like Pinecrest Ridge or the analogous Mogg Hollows. I suppose it might be worthwhile in a mono green deck alongside a pseudo-basic like Tree of Tales.

I disagree. Simply the Painlands and City of Brass make this card very good in Extended (either this year's or next), and then Duals make it really good in Legacy and Vintage. You also have to keep in mind more casual formats like Prismatic/5-color. Seems too overpowered to me.

Now, at 1G you could either make it an Instant or ditch the "nonbasic land" requirement if you wanted it to be better.

Brownie might be right. It does function like a super-tribe-elder. Wether or not it is too overpowered, I'm not sure, but don't be mistaken Ephraim, it is actually more borderline insane than it looks at first glance.

I suppose Id like to see it printed, but I dont like it, because it really is not very original or particularily eye-catching. Even so, good balanced card.

Agreed. This is easily in the Llanowar Elves/Birds of Paradise power bracket. Just forests?

If it could just search for basic forests, would this be any good at all? That would be an awfully green-heavy deck, in which case, it probably has more consistent accelerators than this. I'd rather increase the mana cost to {1}{G}, {G}{G}, or stipulate that the sacrificed nonbasic land has to be untapped.

Instant speed makes it pretty powerful against Wasteland.

Not only does wasteland rotate out of extended in a few months, but if you're holding back 2 mana to fight it, you can just run Teferi's Response.

I like instant speed and {1}{G}. I have also given it the name, "Horticulture." It isn't the best name I've ever thought of, but it beats the placeholder.
