I know there is an In the Eye of Chaos thread but it has been dead for a while, so I thought I'd a new one.  Now that Trinisphere is restricted combo will rear its ugly head in full force.  I think that In the Eye of Chaos is exactly the card needed in this new meta.  The card is also great agaist any drain based deck, forcing them to pay four to five mana each counterspell.  Also six mana to cast Intuitition and TFK will really hurt decks like Tog and CS.

Anyway here is a decklist I've been working on for a five proxy event.

2x City of brass
1x Tolarian Academy
3x Gemstone mine
1x Mishra's workshop
3x Ancient Tomb
1x Strip Mine
4x Wasteland
1x Mox Ruby
1x Mox Sapphire
1x Mox Jet
1x Mox Pearl
1x Black Lotus
2x Crucible of Worlds
1xBalance
1x Sol ring
1x Mana Vault
1x Mana Crypt
4x Transmute Artifact
1x Memory Jar
1x Tinker
1x Yawgmoth's Will
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Wheel of Fortune
2x Karn, Silver Golem
1x Sundering Titan
2x Gilded Lotus
4x Su-Chi
1x Darksteel Colossus
3x Talisman of Dominance
4x Tangle Wire
4x Goblin Welder
4x In the Eye of Chaos

The main deck is a rough draft of basicly a new stax variant.  The Eye wgen dropped First or Second turn is very powerful allowing you to cast threats without fear of them being countered.  The Tangle Wires make an awesome lock with the Eye making it hard for a player to even cast cheap instants.  This deck needs some help but I just wanted to get a list going to show people that In the Eye of Chaos deserves some attention as a playable card.

This seems like a pretty decent idea.  Out 'aggro' other aggro decks who aren't playing that many instants, and help delay the control and combo decks while you beat them down.  I also like using the ancient tombs, as these can help cast the Eye, while workshop can't.

How important are the Welders, as you don't have TFK as a discard outlet, and if The Eye hits play there won't be a lot of countering going on.   Could they be replaced with more aggro (Juggies)?

The idea looks decent, however ItEoC  and wastelands seems like too little disruption. So since you dont run any draw spells except Jar and Wheel, Chains of Mephistofeles seems like a good inclution. Maybe instead of 2 welders and the Jar and Wheel.

Well the welders are very important to the deck but I could drop two of them and run something else.  I would probably add in a couple of smokestacks in their place but I'm not sure if I want less than four.  As for disruption strip/waste, Tangle wire and Eye is quite a bit.  I would not drop the Jar with the transmutes in the deck because I am likely to be able to abuse more than most decks.

i agree here, or you could just be smart and run an xform sideboard, that sides into mr Cron's Stax build?

Well I've decided to cut two Welders out to fit in a couple of Chains of M.(bad at spelling).  I may also cut the DSC for Triskilion to be able to handle opposing welders.

Thanks for the support, I really think this deck can do something if I can get it built just right.
