When I play Turnabout, I obviously choose which player to target upon announcement, just before paying costs. But when do I make my other choices - tap vs untap, and card type? Which, if any, of these other choices are modal and which are made upon resolution?

I ask because I was trying to use it to untap my lands, but my opponent Misdirected it to himself, and I'd much rather tap all his artifacts than untap his lands.

A spell is modal if it has "choose one" in its text. Turnabour is obv not modal Smile

All choices except the target are made on resolution (which type of permanent, and which action)

Not a good idea to misdirect turnabout Wink

Well it actually was a good idea because it prevented my High Tide deck from getting enough mana to Tendrils him out. I was able to make 1BB :<
