Man, I still have no idea what the deal is with Japanese kids and sticking your fingers up someone's ass.
I applied for the teaching job that this guy has, and while I was doing research on it, I would find a bunch of blogs like these and scarily enough, all of them sounded the same. Which means like this one.

Your title is wrong, this should be "Japan is fucked up, pt 49827" or maybe even higher because it seems like we get a new thread celebrating an aspect of Japanese craziness every week since the beginning of TMD. I'm fairly sure I'm responsible for a fair chunk of those threads as well. that was funny

These are great, especially his movie / serie references are cool: Resistance is futile. You will have your dick grabbed With my Kancho Sense™ and now Kancho Time abilities, I am The One who will bring down the system.

So, do we have anybody in the community who's done the JET program, or anybody who's close friends with somebody who has? It's been a topic of conversation among my friends as of late, and it seems like something I'd definitely be interested in but want to get more first-hand info on.

Bumping this for two reasons.
One, the original link has several updates since the posting, and they're just as hilarious.
Two, to echo TracerBullet's question. I've heard about this program through several avenues and even had my boss recommend this to me as a possible 'thing to do' before I start a career. So, anyone here know more about the JET program?

I applied for it for much the same reason. My Japanese and Asian Studies profs that I asked for my letters of recommendation from thought that I would be a shoo-in, since I have an English degree and level 3 capability on the Ninhongo Nouryoku Shiken, but I got rejected without even getting to the interview stage.
Dom from Megatokyo also got rejected before even getting to the interview stage.
