Auramancy {W} Enchantment , Sacrifice an enchantment: Draw a card. *** In case you haven't noticed, I'm a huge fan of the suffix "mancy." It is the ideal suffix for cards that deal with card-drawing, since it actually refers to extraction of information from the source implied by the prefix. In this case, it is the practice of extracting information from enchantments, to which the prefix "Aura" is commonly applied in Magic. My goal in this card was to create a white card-drawer similar to Compulsion. Most notably, it requires the sacrifice of a permanent, rather than the discard of a card, so I've made the activation cost nominally less expensive. On the other hand, with monstosities such as Rancor out there, I didn't dare make the activation cost too inexpensive, or this would yield a really broken draw engine. Thus, I kept the same converted mana cost for the activation -- it means that in conjunction with Rancor, this says {G}: Draw a card. This isn't all that broken, since 1. Enchantress decks do it better than this and 2. it's a two-card draw engine in colours that still need something to do with it.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Current Wording:
Auramancy {1} {W} Enchantment
{W}, Sacrifice an enchantment: Draw a card.
Every spell manifests itself as a point of light in the the AEther. Untethered and contained, that spell's aura becomes a lamp that can pierce the AEther's darkness.

Rancor and company are rotating out of extended quite soon, at which point this becomes really bad. I'd rather see it cost W to activate.

Fair enough -- I'll change the activation cost to . In any case, I don't think this card is bad. I think it's an undercosted card-drawing ability that places a pretty steep restriction on the construction of the deck, but which begs to have an engine built around it. I'd certainly like to see what could be done with this and Tallowisp. Between the two of them, they provide a good way to both thin your deck and to draw more cards.

Scopeless on mIRC I'd like to imprint My Cock on that. If she handles it right, it makes white mana.

Actually, I really like this card. Even when it had an activation cost of 2. Well done.

Another useful new white card. Eph is white's champion! A few months ago, I was blue's champion. If next month, we decide that red needs a serious overhaul, guess what kinds of cards you'll see me creating?

Not only would this be insane in an Enchantress deck with things like Rancor, but it would also be a reason to use Skull of Orm again. So whatever Enchantment that doesn't return on it's own you can return and cast again. If you're running 4 Argothian Enchantress and 4 Enchantress' Presence that's a lot of card draw.
I really like the idea, a very versitile card.
