I agree with the quote backdrop. IMO, it should be even lighter. I disagree with your choice of icons though. Check this out: Tell me that lock button isn't clear enough. Especially if we remove the colors from the 'hot' regular threads. Oh, notice our current lock button down there? I didn't either....

Personally, I'd opt for the brown lock, since it really screams NOTHING TO SEE HERE - MOVE ALONG HOME.
Also, I agree with whoever suggested to not have diffrent colors for hot topics.
And can I please have some opinions on a slightly smaller quote font? Agree with all three of these. The quote font needs to be a little smaller. If only the default background was dark, we could have white-backed quotes again. The lavender isn't too bad though.

If you want the icon to say "This sucker is under lock-down," use the third icon in your post #43 above. If you want a more subtle "oh, by the way, this topic is locked," use the first icon. The second icon has too much blue in it and will be too easy to confuse with the open topics. But why is the lock icon in a dialogue bubble? It doesn't have to make sense, but still.

I seem to be unable to post to non-magic forums and to magic community forum, if that's just as it should be, then fine. Yeah, that's how it's supposed to work. Those forums are for full members and above. -Jacob

I seem to be unable to post to non-magic forums and to magic community forum, if that's just as it should be, then fine. Basic and New Users cannot post in Humor, General, Magic Community, Tournament Announcements or Closed Vintage. As for the lock icon, I too like the first one, but will there be two: One for those you have posted in, and one for those you haven't? Using the board's current scheme, the one you proposed would be a fit for a closed thread that you have posted in, and just remove the little hook on the icon for the closed threads you haven't posted in. Oh, and leviat: There was a poll option for Basic Users in the Casual Forum as well (on the old software).

I really like this second one because both the first and third draw my attention to them. The second is like "locked, don't bother", the other two are like "Hey! Look over here! It's locked and you can't post." I strongly suggest the second one and if Bram would be soooo kind, could you please make a rounded one without the tail as well since the tail infers that you have posted in the discussion. For the colors of the different topics... I think they should probably go. As someone suggested, most people look at the reply count anyways. What I'm going to do is just change the threshold to be really high, so a topic won't get marked as "hot" unless it has like... 200 replies or something.

Quote from: TheWalkingSponge on Yesterday at 11:02:45 AM Oh, and leviat: There was a poll option for Basic Users in the Casual Forum as well (on the old software).
Oh? Alright, I'll add permissions for that. Yeah, it wasn't used that much, Type 4 stuff mostly, but it's still nice to have. My real question is: What is the capacity for the PM Inbox? With the old system, it showed you how much space you had left (Basic Users could have 50 PM's stored at a time), but I see nothing like that now. Is there a limit? Also, I <3 How it shows you all your PM's in thread form. MODIFY: Also, is there any way you can add words to the Spell Check's Dictionary? It's a bit annoying having it think stuff like "mana," "Mox," "Moxen," and "SoLoMoxen"/"SoLoMoxenCrypt" aren't words, because they totally are (at least in my mind ).

OK, here's the blue lock in the text balloon with no tail, for locked threads the user hasn't posted in.

Is there an option to make available a "sent box" for private messages, as there was on the old software? As it is, I can't see items I've sent that haven't yet been read. I used to use that mailbox to reference which cards I'd asked Matt to close in the card-creation forum. It is often hard for me to remember if I've sent a closure request yet for any particular card.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Everyone should have an "Outbox" that lists all sent messages. However, there will most likely never be a Sentbox that show read messages. Sorry.

Between the new sticky and locked icons, and the lack of "hot" topics, I really like that aspect of the interface now. Good work!

Seconded! The 'blue' lock icon looks great, esp with the lose of the hot topics. A really clean and crisp look. The 'TMD' logo above still looks pixelated and unflattering, but that's really a minor point.

Teehee Well, I have my res. set somewhat higher that that. You're not referring to the jagged lines or 'corners' on the horizontal / vertical lines, are you? (I mean like the fact that the left part of the D is fatter in the lower part than in the upper part). Because that's the way it's meant to be. It's like a revamped version of the new TMD logo that's been on the frontpage for, oh, half a year now.

That's because in stead of mailing some random moderator, you should have sent a Private Message (PM) to ME. MUHAHAHAAA! Erm. OK. Anyway, here's the thread you're looking for. It's a sticked thread in the Vintage Open forum.

I don't know if this is just me, but whenever I try and post a reply it comes up with the "Cannot find server" page, so I have to press Back and click Post again until it actually posts, normally several times. Is this the forum software or my computer that's taking the piss? Either way, does anyone know how to fix it?

I know this thread is mad old but I got an idea and I wonder if it was bothering anyone else.
At the bottom of the forum there is a legend with the four icons on the left side, with "topic you have posted in," "hot topic," etc. I thought it would look a lot better if the first bubble was the normal background color, and the "normal topic" bubble was the only one that was the blue color that it is. Having the "quote" icon be the same color as the normal topic doesn't make any sense since it changes color depending on the number of replies. Having it the background color makes it look more general.
Anyone else care?

i dont know if this is a software issue but at my house i cant access themanadrain.com, it hangs forver on the loading and then says page cannot be displayed, but im at work and it works fine. All other websites work fine on my computer.
(also, a long time ago i had to do something to access this page, something to do with name servers or flushing the dns or something. I dont remember, just thought that might be useful.)
