From Aaron Forsythe's article last week: "How many original "dual lands" (Tundra, Taiga, etc.) do you own?"
If a mana base is the foundation of any deck, is your collection of dual lands the base of your entire collection? Maybe so.
My hypothesis is that the average TMDer owns more than the average playa'. |

I am short 1 Scrubland and 2 Taigas from a complete playset of duals. I also have 4 extra Plateaus and at least one extra Badlands. I may have other extra ones but no extra blue producing ones.

4 * Tropical Island, Volcanic Island and Tundra, no others. I'm trying to buy/trade for some beat Underground Seas at the moment for a non-extortionate price, but not having any luck so far. I haven't bothered with the non-blue duals as yet, they aren't nearly as useful.

That's all I need.
Now that I can edit this post, I forgot to mention that I traded all my other Revised duals for nifty foil cards. I used to have playsets of Plateau, Badlands, Bayou, Taiga, but the Plateau went toward a Mox Pearl, the Badlands went toward foil Brianstorms, and the Bayou and Taiga traded for a foil Vamp and a set of Saga foil Duress.
EDIT: I've updated my dual land collection. I marked changes with a *. I have not yet updated my duel land collection. I still own 0 Arena and 0 Contested Cliffs.

As you can see, my collection is somewhat anemic. Maybe if all eight of my dual lands produced blue mana, I'd be better off. Fortunately, I think that from casual play perspective, dual lands will be a very good investment, so I'll be happy to pay for the remaining 32 dual lands I need.

I've managed to get a full set plus, and I love my duals.
Not only do I heart my blue based ones for vintage, but my green based ones see play in Legacy, and the others are in my multiplayer decks.
They are the most used cards in my collection, and I am always looking for more (even the "bad" ones).

Personally, I own a playset of dual lands plus another 10 more or so and am happy that I can stop worrying about needing to complete the set again.
