Hot Potato Mox
0
Artifact
T: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool. An opponent gains control of Hot Potato Mox and untaps it.

I think it would be 100% safe at 1, but I'd rather not do that unless I absolutely have to. This card might be restricted or at least on the watch list right out of the gate, but I personally don't see cards like Mind's Desire or Chrome Mox as mistakes, and am glad both of them saw print. I dunno, this is obviously very scary on the surface, but I think it might be alright. One question I have is whether or not it would be stronger or weaker if it tapped for any color: Obviously it would be more useful to its caster, but it would also mean that the combo player would be giving the control player UU up, even if the control only had one turn (and before the spell he used the Mox on resolved).

What about "Add one colorless mana to your mana pool. Remove Hot Potato Mox from the game. At end of turn, return Hot Potato Mox to play under opponent's control." - this still prevents broken combo stuff, and also keeps the card from sucking too much.

Is this really all that good? Aside from being broken with Mindslaver (and does that actually count for anything?), this isn't really all that much better than Rainbow Vale, is it? All it has going for it is that it doesn't take up a land drop, but it also doesn't produce coloured mana. That, by the way, suggests that this probably shouldn't be a Mox, but something else. Every Mox generates coloured mana. (I understand that Hot Potato Mox is just a placekeeper, obviously.)

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

At first glance it's a very interesting card, but I'm unsure of how good it is.  It doesn't give you a tremendous amount of advantage because whatever you do with it, your opponent gets a chance to get a similar advantage.

I really don't like this card. Rainbow Vale saw absolutely zero play, so the only time this is going to get any use is in some stupid combo deck that isn't planning on giving the opponent another turn.

I believe this card is dangerous as it another free mana generator that ups the storm count.

Exactly. This will never be used fairly, but for combo it's a slightly inferior Lotus Petal. Lotus Petal is restricted in Vintage and banned in Extended for a reason, and I think this is too close. The first fix I thought of was for it to it CIP tapped, that would at least make it suck for storm combo.
