Name
{2}{B}{G}
Sorcery
Search your graveyard and library for a card and put that card in your hand. Shuffle your library.

Hopefully I can use this wording, but if not I can always do "Choose one -- Return target card from your graveyard to your hand, or search your library for a card, put that card in your hand, and shuffle your library." Possibly with entwine, but that limits its use in a set until we have enough entwine cards to make that one of our mechanics.

Hopefully that mana cost isn't too low. It's significantly worse than Diabolic Tutor, and Regrowth I feel is a sufficiently weak effect that adding green is a heavier drawback than the added utility. If I have to bump the cost to 3BG I feel it could almost be uncommon.

Should this be "graveyard or library"?

well Elven Cache costs 2GG and Diabolic Tutor costs 2BB.  Making it multicolored makes it harder to cast.  Making it enemy multicolored makes it even harder to cast, but one is green meaning it has access to mana fixers.  Conclusion: I guess this is appropriately costed provided that "and" becomes "or".

Elven Cache got made redundant by Eternal Witness, so that's probably a more useful starting point. I think the card is fine, personally, provided any wording issues are ironed out...

It should be "or". Otherwise, it sounds like you can search your library for a card and search your graveyard for a card. (Doomsday reads "and" because you are searching for five cards.)

Search your library or graveyard for a card and put that card into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

This is based on the Oracle text for Demonic Tutor.

This is a nice compliment to Disentomb on the Master List.

P.S. I'm not a huge fan of the Entwine mechanic.

Eternal Witness is a grossly undercosted and format-warping card. At 2BG, this is a powerhouse. 3BG would be a more fair pricing, so it depends on how good you want it to be. It is in a fairly weak color combination, though.

I think CMC 4 is fine for the effect. Eternal Witness being a creature has something to do with its distorting effect...

This is pretty much in line with the pricing scheme on Pernicious Deed and Spiritmonger, both of which are imminently fair cards. And yes, Witness' creature-ness is the biggest reason why it's format-defining. No matter how you play this, it's going to be fair - four mana for a tutor has been shown to be playable but not good, and four mana for a Regrowth has been shown to be too weak for constructed. That you get both is offset by the additional color requirements, so I think it's fair.

Comparing to Deed and Monger may not be the best comparison, as both are extremely powerful for their cost (there arent a lot of 6/6 regenerating, pumping, monsters for 5 mana).  That said, this seems fine, slightly worse than diabolic tutor because of two colors (if you're getting a card from the library), but with a little extra versatility (really, in non-T1, how often are you gonna have all your copies of that spell in the GY? )

Well, it's not solely useless in this respect - you might want a second copy of osmething like Myr Servitor or Kindle more than just reusing one you've already drawn.

I agree that this card has a fair CC.  I also like it.

I have a highlander B/G deck (using Legacy rules). I'm not sure if I would use this card in that deck - maybe, maybe not. I really don't see the power level issues here at all. I'm even surprised that nobody is pushing 1BG although I feel that the 1B + 1G thing is the right way to go.

I think that Shameless Bump is a fine name for this card.

Er... I mean – How about "Resourceful Tutor?"

That's such a playtest name. :< I'd rather this not actually have the word "tutor" on it.

Problem is, there are no real people or images that people assciate with B/G. Closest is dark heart of the woods, but we can't call the card "Freyalise's Dark Heart" or anything like that.

How about "Whispers of the trees"?

How about "Deep Shadow Scrying" then? It sort of sounds totally black, except that longtime players will recognize the allusion to Elves of Deep Shadow, which is cool, in my opinion.

It's worth noting that since green has mana-fixing, while black rewards you for staying in one color, that people will play this as a green card with a B in the casting cost, rather than the other way around. I think it makes sense to support that with whatever flavor we come up with.

Well, the connection between Green and Black is life giving way to death giving way to life, which is again reflected in the mechanic of the card. I would want to reflect that without sounding stretched or lame.

"Whispers of the Trees", as asmorandwhateverhisnameis suggested, would work. Tutor seems to want to work itself into the name somewhere, although all I can come up with is Grim or Forgotten, neither of which seem great. Autumn's Lore has a nice ring to it, I think, and fits well.
