<Name> Instant As an additional cost to play ~this~, shuffle a card from your hand into your library. Draw two cards. *** Even if you discount for the change from the old style of cantripping to the new style, this isn't quite a reprint. The original version of the card actually could be used to generate card advantage if you cast it when it was the last card in your hand. It still wasn't good at all, but it's a card that fascinates me. This card is essentially identical, except that the shuffle effect is part of the cost, rather than part of the effect. I don't think this substantially harms the deck, because I imagine that in most instances, this would be used specifically to shuffle a card back into the library (for example, Beacon of Annihilation in Doomsday.) No, this is not a good card, but it amuses me, so I'm going to push for it to go through essentially as-is.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Current Wording:
Reorganize {1}{U} Instant
Shuffle a card from your hand into your library. If you do, draw two cards.

Yeah, it's not strong but they can't all be bombs There's obviously no power concerns here. Here's me waving it through: (^")> (>")> Oh and Lat-Nam's legacy has been errated/updated so it can't generate card advantage anymore, unless I misread the oracle wording.

You are correct. I missed the "If you do" wording. Should I use that wording instead of the "additional cost" wording? I kind of like mine the way it is -- having the shuffle be part of the cost means that this can be used as a totally uncounterable shuffle generator that replaces itself.

I don't like the fact that if it gets countered, it really sucks. What about something like this:
Lat-Nam's Wisdom Instant 2U Draw two cards, then discard a card. Cycle 1U When you cycle Lat-Nam's Wisdom you may shuffle a card from your hand into your library. If you do, draw a card.
The shuffle will go on the stack first, then you draw two.

That looks really awkward, Machinus. I'd rather go with the "if you do" wording and make this so that you don't lose anything extra if it's countered. It means the shuffle effect can be countered, too, but it isn't a cumbersome union of two abilities that do almost the exact same thing.

Unnecessary shuffle effects are generally to be avoided. How about;
1U Draw two cards, then put a card from your hand on the bottom of your library.

Personally I'd go with the "if you do" wording, which makes it stronger than Lat-Nam's Legacy (which really isn't that much of an honor) and still preserves the original intent. It's short and sweet that way, the way a card like this should be.

I've decided to use the "if you do" wording. TheWellknownBrownie, I'm leaving it as is because I don't see this as an unnecessary shuffle effect. Like Myr Mindservant, the primary function here is the shuffle, I think. The card drawing is just so that this isn't pure card disadvantage in the process. Furthermore, the way it's worded now makes it a perfect modern update of an old cantrip, which is really what I was going for when I started this thread.
It still needs a name, though, and possibly some flavour text. Part of me wants to go with the simple and unpretentious "Restock." "Riffle" is another possibility, although it may violate the naming rule that prohibits a game term from being used as a card name (since riffle is a variety of shuffling.)

I haven't thought of any really good names for this card. The only thing that comes to mind is "Backup Plan" which is kind of mediocre.

Well, the flavor of the card isn't really that you're restocking anything that you've used; it's that you've got these spells in your hand that you don't want (but that, since they're in your deck, aren't bad, hopefully, but rather bad for the current situation). You want to trade them in for some new cards that are hopefully better to the situation at hand. Is that correct? Given that, I think that a good name would be Adapt.

I felt that the flavour was pretty much in favour of "Restock," if it weren't already taken. I was borrowing the term from the Battletech card game, where you can sometimes put an unneeded card from your hand back into your stockpile (library.)
Adapt wouldn't be a terrible name, but it suggests development of a specific improvement, which this definitely doesn't do. For some reason, I definitely can't shake my first impression that this should have a "Re-" name like Reorganize or Reorient. (Reorganize is what I'm going to work with for now.)
