I consider this to be the black equivalent of [card]Halberdier[/card]. It's a 3/1 for four mana with a basic combat ability. It's notably weaker than [card]Gluttonous Zombie[/card] or [card]Covert Operative[/card], so it merits the lower mana cost. I won't be giving this soulshift or any spiritcraft abilities. I consider them to be block-only mechanics (ones that really limit the playability of a card outside of block, too!) so they won't be making an appearance here, despite the card having "Kami" in its name.

Looks good. Spirit is fine, but does it have to be a Kami?

I guess it doesn't have to be a kami. That's really the best name, I think, if I want this to be a spirit. On the other hand, I could probably call it "Goretooth Abberation" (Creature – Horror) or "Goretooth Bruiser" (Creature – Minion)

Actually Magic has a surprising amount of minions - 39, which is roughly on par with Merfolk (43).
