For some time now I’m playing a Workshop Aggro deck (which I called Brownies, after the color artifacts used to have) and, even without great results (one t8 in a very small tournament shouldn’t count for much  Wink), I am curious about your opinions on some cards I included. There are many choices inspired by other available lists, so I’m not stating there’s very much new tech in here or something, but hopefully I can gather some useful tips…  Very Happy

The list:

1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Vault
1 Mana Crypt
1 Darksteel Ingot
2 Gilded Lotus

4 Mishra’s Workshop
4 Gemstone Mine
4 City of Brass
2 City of Traitors
2 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Tolarian Academy

4 Juggernaut
1 Platinum angel
1 Memnarch
2 Sundering Titan
1 Karn, Silver Golem
4 Goblin Welder

2 Lightning Greaves
2 Crucible of Worlds
4 Thirst for Knowledge
3 Intuition
1 Memory Jar
1 Time Walk
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Tinker
1 Yawgmoth’s Will
1 Demonic Tutor

Lightning Greaves: I found it very powerful in the matches it was in play. It can win you the game sooner then you normally would (because of the haste ability) and, maybe even more important, it protects your creatures (a protected Welder, Memnarch or Platinum Angel is very nice)

Darksteel Ingot: I thought I saw it in a list of Travis LaPlante. It’s a any-color mana source, comes off a MWS and is indestructible – that's nice combined with Karn for example. Also, a start with MWS, Ingot, Welder, go is not that bad at all

Yawgmoth’s Will: I wanted this one because I sometimes found myself in situations in which I can cast an Intuition into 2 cards that would mean I could win the game, but not a third. This is not the only reason to include one of the best cards in the game, of course  Mr. Green

City of Traitors: This mana source gives in most cases a great advantage (tempo) in my opinion. A first turn Welder followed by a second turn Thirst or Intuition (into Titan, Titan, Karn for example) from a City of Traitors is just great.

I am considering adding Umezawa’s Jitte to the list, although I’m not sure what to cut for it. I played it last tournament (Castricum, The Netherlands) and it was awesome there (playing against Goblins, Rootwalla’s and Mongrels)

I hope you guys can give me some stuff to think about, cards to consider or point out flaws in the list or the card discussed above. Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot I'd made a change in the list:

-1 City of Brass or -1 Lightning Greaves (I'm still not sure, because sometimes I'm short on colored mana sources)
+1 Trinisphere (a first turn Trini is still very strong and an Intuition into Strip Mine, Crucible, Trini with an active Welder in play seems pretty good too)

Any comments?

Some specific questions about choices can be helpful, I guess..

Number of Wastelands: I am running two in the list (and a Strip Mine), but I'm still wondering if that's enough or should I play 4 of them? And, if I should, what to cut for them? I don't want to lose my colored mana sources and I don't want to lose my City of Traitors (I think..)

SB choices: The last SB's I put together included this:

3 Chains of Mephistopheles (good against a lot of stuff, particularly heavy control decks)
3 Tormod's Crypt (I hope it's obvious in the current metagame why I included these.. although I am also considering Phyrexian Furnace.. any thoughts?)
3 Ray of Revelation (nice against Oath (although the last time I played against Oath, I didn't get to play ONE  Confused), Bazaar/Replenish, but also to react on the SB choices of your opponent (like Energy Fux, Serenity or main deck problems like Blood Moons))
2 Swords to Plowhares (good against creature-based decks of course, but also Oath, mirror matches etc)

From this point on, I'm not sure what to add in my SB. Pithing Needle is very hot at the moment of course, but I'm also considering Triskelions, Duplicants, Jester's Cap, Chalice of the Void and Umezawa's Jitte... All of the cards are good in a certain metagame...

I played this list in Paris and went 5-3 drop (yes, I know it's funny Very Happy). I've tried to explain the card choises the best I could. If this has any relevance, I'll let you decide Smile

4x Juggernaut
4x Suchi (More likely to see turn 1 beater. These could have been Centurions...)
1x Triskellion (Against Welder and Fish)
1x Sundering Titan (Main Tinker target)
1x Duplicant (Tinker target vs. Oath, but might be too random)
1x Platinum Angel (I wish this wasn't in there)

4x Sphere of Resistance (Keeps opponents low on mana resources and makes Strips, CotV and Pillar even better)
3x Crucible of Worlds (To keep stripping your opponent is just nasty with a fat creature on the board)
4x Chalice of the Void (Offen, this is played for 0, but against TPS it's 1, Oath and Tog is 2 and so on...)
4x Pyrostatic Pillar (If you have resolved a beater, this card will always be at your advantage. These are simply house against Gifted, Tog and TPS.)
1x Trinisphere (Why can't I play four?)

1x Ancestral Recall
1x Time Walk
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Tinker
1x Vampiric Tutor

4x MWS
8x SoloCryptVaultMoxen
5x Strips
4x City of Brass
4x Gemstone Mine
1x Tolarian Academy

Sideboard: 15
3x RnR (Shops)
3x ReB (Combo, most Drain)
4x StP (Gifts with DSC as only kil and random.dec)
3x Ray of Revelation (Oath, b2b)
2x Triskelion (FISH!)

If I were to play this deck again, I'd probably get rid of both Duplicant and Platinum Angel and squeeze in cards like Gorilla Shaman and Yawgmoth's Will. I must warn you, that you will never get better at magic as long as you play this deck Wink

GL with the deck...
