Apparently this has a different name, but the basic premise is that you lay out the ENTIRE deck at once and let people Rochester it from there. It sounds fun as hell and I could see drafting specific strategies like aggro being easier if you'd be able to nab Survival, Flute, Portal, Timmy, etc while people are fighting over other stuff.
We were talking about it on a car ride, and the question became: what is the first pick? I argued that it would be Grinning Totem, but CHAIN5 suggested Aquire. Aquire grabs Totem, Totem grabs everything. Which one really is the better card? Both are especially good when you see what everyone else has drafted.

It sounds fantastic! I´ll try it today, can´t wait!! By the way, it has been a long time since your play-group doesn´t update the T4 stack, could you post it here to play this Rochester-way ?

It's called Rotisserie Draft (because you can see the whole thing). I've done it once, and I suggest you try it. Just not very often, as people tend to just draft the same stuff.

Yeah, I'd REALLY love to try this on Thursday or Friday @ Origins, especially since Paul will be there. I see what you mean about not doing this often, but it seems to me that when you get together with different playgroups this would be a fun way to let individual styles shine

I'd rather just build a 40 card deck of my own and play it agaisnt other peoples, like how it orginally started off with. Only problem is that you'd need to use the same set of rules when building the deck, and must agree on a list of what you cna play, etc..... probably too much of a hassle.
That said, Kevin, I will have my revenge the next time we get to play. Maybe this time your little Vampire lackeys won't all decide to attack me because I draw no instants for the ENTIRE GAME, and I instead get pitifully small sized creatures.

It sounds like you didn't draft properly. Rotisserie is also good if you have a set to draft, like Saga.

We did it here in Binghamton last night. You'll hear more about it in a week or so on SCG...

It sounds like you didn't draft properly. No, I think I did, but I got one of those hands where you draw all the cards you got in the last 2 picks of Rochester, and then everyone attacked me because I had one (easily removed) creature.
