I thought of an intersting Hermit Druid deck for type 1. I don't have a full deck list, but This cards is out of control and not used anymore. Won't you be a friend to this poor hermit?

Turn 1: play a hermit somehow. This is very possible.
Turn two: Upkeep activate hermit. Put Bayou into your hand and play it. Krosan Reclaimation for Yagmoth's will. Or how's about Reclaimation for Songs of the damned then Drain Life them out?

Flashback Cabal therapy and name Force of will first, of course. How about pitching a black card to Unmask? It's free. Why was that not played in Extended Angry Hermit anyways? Duress is good enough I guess. And yes, you could always reanimate a huge Revenant and swing. The Sutured Ghoul is counter-productive to songs of the damned, because you have to remove the fatties from the game. Sad Reanimate an Eternal Witness for the Will and whoops, you've won. You can play silly mana acceleraion in this deck like Lion's Eye diamond and it doesn't matter. I have no idea how to build this, but it seems like a fresh change from just playing Oath and the rest of them. OK, here's an attempt at a decklist:

4 Hermit druid
4 mesmeric fiend
4 Cabal Therapy
1 Songs of the damned-maybe 2
4 Drain life-worst case, just drain a welder
2 Reanimate
2 Krosan Reclaimation
1 Eternal Witness
1 Revenant
1 Krosan Cloudscraper
1 faceless butcher
4 Verdant Force
1 Masticore
1 platinum angel
1 Ascendant Evincar
1 Vampiric tutor
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Dragon Breath
1 Yagmoth's Will
1 Lion's eye diamond
1 ancestral recall
5 moxen
1 Lotus
1 bayou-this is not cool, but the druid would stop searching too eary otherwise
4 llanowar wastes
4 City of Brass
4 Forbidden orchard
4 Gemstone Mine

61 cards

Living Death  and a chainer's edict should be in there. Mox monkeys or Ukatabi's. You can really get silly w/ deck ideas here. This deck is so bad it might just work...
Bazzar of Baghdad would be nice I think.

So you know, Bayou isn't a basic land. Otherwise, however, the combo could work, but you may want to consider the Angry Ghoul approach, which uses [card]Sutured Ghoul[/card], several large creatures, a reanimation spell and [card]Dragon Breath[/card] to create a massive creature with haste and trample and swing for the wind. As it stands, your combo simply takes up too much space in the deck, space that could be better used for more disruption, tutoring and acceleration. Also, why the Mesmeric Fiends instead of Duresses?

With the Songs of the damned/drain/druid combo in the deck, Sutured ghoul has a bad synergy with it. Yo have to remove guys from the game with the ghoul. With Revenant, all those guys in the graveyard become great AND works well with the Songs of the damned. I agree that Sutured ghould is the most obvious choice, but going drain to drain someone out or drain a creature is a good option to have. Probably more tutoring could be in there. Diabolic intent is a card I've always wanted to mess around with and would fit in here nicely. Oh snap! I forgot about Death Wish! AND Intuitiuon. OK new list:

4 Hermit druid
4 mesmeric fiend
4 Cabal Therapy
1 Songs of the damned-maybe 2
1 Drain life
1 Diabolic intent-maybe even more?
1 Death Wish
1 Intuition
1 Reanimate
1 Sakuro, tribe elder
1 Gorilla shaman
1 Krosan Reclaimation
1 Eternal Witness
1 Revenant
1 Krosan Cloudscraper-sure, why not
1 Faceless butcher
1 Verdant Force
1 Duplicant
1 Woodripper
1 Sylvan safekeeper-this guy is absolutly nuts. Keep your hermit alive! Or Platinum angel and just win.
1 Masticore
1 platinum angel
1 Ascendant Evincar-no, I don't want those spirit tokens!
1 Vampiric tutor
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Dragon Breath
1 Yagmoth's Will
1 Lion's eye diamond
1 ancestral recall
5 moxen
1 Lotus
1 swamp
4 Bayou
4 City of Brass
4 Forbidden orchard
4 Gemstone Mine

This seems tighter, more focused. The mesmeric fiends are better disruption because they can grab guys too. They work better w/ Revenant. The idea of a recurring nightmare/Kukusho-drain dude may be a nice option. Also recurring an Eternal witness for something useful would be a nice option. Another nice thing about the Revenant is that the flying ability is clearly better than the trample on the Sutured Ghoul. What guys are played in Type 1 reguraly that have flying? Hmmm..I could probably squeeze in 1 Ghoul and add 1 Krosan Cloudscraper to pump the Ghoul. OK -1 Faceless Butcher -1 Gorilla shaman + 1 Ghoul +1 Krosan cloudscraper. There. Now everyone's happy.

I made a hermit druid deck a couple of weeks ago for some casual t1 play. I don't have power but wanted to do a y will tendrill's kill so i thought of just playing a lot of rituals and some free stuff like unmask and petal/crypt.

main plan: play hermit druid, next turn mill your deck then play yawgmoth's will, play 8 other spells and tendrill's for the kill.

when y will is counter your most of the times screwed unless you have a regrowth, i though of maybe splashing blue for counters, relearn and mystical or splashing red for reb and recoup but i don't got the right duals for it. I also see i forgot about using Krosan Reclamation as extra regrowth. I also sometimes got the tendrill's kill without using the hermit through lots of rituals and using y will to play them again.

4# Bayou
4# Llanowar Wastes
2# Tree of Tales
2# Seat of the Synod

1# Sol Ring
1# Lotus Petal
1# Mana Crypt
4# Dark Ritual
4# Song of the Damned

4# Duress
3# Unmask

4# Llanowar Elves
4# Fyndhorn Elves
4# Birds of Paradise

4# Diabolic Intent
1# Demonic Tutor
1# Vampiric Tutor
4# Skullclamp

2# Tendrill's of Agony
4# Hermit Druid
1# Yawgmoth's Will
1# Regrowth

rituals-mana artifacts: getting those spells for tendrill's
duress-unmask: getting stifles and fows out of hands
elves-bop: mana and for clamp
tutors: getting y will
skullclamp: draw
Tendrill's of Agony: kill
Hermit Druid: milling your deck
Yawgmoth's Will: for getting the spells for tendrills and most of the time getting tendrill's
Regrowth: for getting will if its counterred or when you have milled it into your graveyard

we have a different gameplan but maybe you get some ideas from my list. the deck is very fun to play, y will your deck is just so kewl  :lol:.

The problem is that songs of the damned is a dead card until you get the druid/will combo off. Even then, it needs to be in your hade. You should take out the regrowth. Krosan reclaimation is just better. I do lie the synergy between the skullclamps/small guys/and songs however. Maybe go down to two songs and add in two krosan reclaimations. I'd take out the unmasks in this version and add more guys for the diabolic intents. Also, festering goblin would be a nice addition. Clamp him draw cards and kill their welder. That's hot! Other cards to consider are cabal ritual and culling the weak. cabal ritual with threshold is very easy in this deck it appears. Culling the weak may be handy too. There should absolutly be Cabal thereapy in this deck. Other than that, nice work.

I brainstormed about this deck tonight and made some changes. maybe i removed to many mana producers, haven't tested it yet. The main change is getting kobolds in instead of the elves, the elves only produced mana to clamp itself or other elves when i played it. I put in 2 festering goblin because i didn't know what to get out of it for the other 2 Also the krosan reclamation makes the deck a lot better because you now can just mill your deck and get y will back instead of the need of having will of regrowth in your hand. I dropped the rituals from 8 to 6 because they aren't really needed for the storm anymore(only if you don't get a druid and get the kill without it), now they are only for tendrills and will in one turn with only needing 1 black mana. I also dropped a tendrills because the second one is almost  every times useless. It also needs to get ride off things like mage and chalice, maybe it needs blue for chain of vapor.

//Main(60)

//Lands(11)
4# Bayou
4# Llanowar Wastes
3# Gemstone Mine

//Mana(9)

//Disrupt(7)
3# Duress
4# Cabal Therapy

//Creatures(15)
4# Kobolds Of Kher Keep
4# Crimson Kobolds
4# Crookshank Kobolds
2# Festering Goblin
1# Sylvan Safekeeper

//Tutor(6)
4# Diabolic Intent
1# Demonic Tutor
1# Vampiric Tutor

//Kill(1)
1# Tendrill's of Agony

Combo(7)
4# Hermit Druid
1# Yawgmoth's Will
2# Krosan Reclamation

//Draw(4)
4# Skullclamp

it looks a bit like kobold clamp now

This looks extremly fast! The only concern I can think of is right off the bat, is what type of deck is this? Is it a Kobold clap deck, or a Hermit druid combo deck? The more focused the deck is, the better the chance of winning it has. Some other ideas I had was Abyssal gatekeeper. Its a 1/1 You clamp him, he dies and the opponent has to sac a guy of theirs. You draw two. The festering goblin is cheaper, but the abyssal can kill off Akroma! The Sylvan safekeeper is totally nuts. It's not to good against Triskellion, however. Nice work. keep it coming.
