hey everyone i'm new to this vintage stuff so i have a decklist my friend gave me and need some help on it since im kinda on a budget (200$) i can trade for most of the stuff i have some of the stuff coming in the mail so any help would be appreciated
the decklist:
Artifacts
1 Black Lotus
2 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Sapphire
  4 Aether Vial
Creatures
4 Cloud Of Faeries
3 Meddling Mage
4 Ninja Of The Deep Hours
2 Old Man Of The Sea
1 Waterfront Bouncer
Enchantments
4 Standstill

Instants
1 Ancestral Recall
3 Daze
4 Force Of Will
1 Misdirection
2 Swords To Plowshares

Sorceries
1 Time Walk

Basic Lands
3 Island
1 Plains

Lands
4 Flooded Strand
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Polluted Delta
1 Strip Mine
3 Tundra
4 Wasteland

Sideboard:
4 Chalice Of The Void
 2 Seal of Cleansing
3 Energy Flux
2 Blue Elemental Blast
1 Disenchant
  1 Waterfront Bouncer
2 Swords To Plowshares

i'm guessing the swords to plowshare are to take care of early threats and old man of the sea also stand still is to make sure they dont play spells while you make you're card count go higher  aether vile is for putting creatures in at no expense to you and standstill wont take into effect since you didnt cast the creature Smile so this is what i know about the deck please help me out  Smile

Also in the future there is a search feature in the upper left hand corner you can use to search for these sort of things.

Also please read this http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/index.php?topic=18027.0 link so you are in the know re: rules and regulations on posting to the site.

@Topicstarter: maybe it's also a good idea to state clearly what you want to know from the other people at this site. Right now it seems as though you want deckhelp, although you seem to understand it already. There's already been a few decks about general strategy, and there's an article by the creator on SCG. You should check them out.

A few questions from me about your list:

Why Old man of the sea? Are they better than Waterfront Bouncer? Why still run 1 waterfront bouncer, if Old man is possible better?
Why only 3 meddling mages? Do you think 4 is too much?
No Chalice, but Dazes and Misdirection? Do you think the soft-counters are better than dropping a Chalice to slow the opponent down?
Are Plows still needed even though you run Old men and Bouncer and Jitte?

first i have to say that i agree with RVS all the cards they have named are better (chalice, waterfront bouncer etc..) My friend has built a version of this deck and he runs Rootwater Thiefs and they are huge when you start taking control of the game, just a thought you might want to look into.

I believe that there is a W/U vial fish deck hanging around this forum somewhere, I'm sure that you can find some inspiration and more decklists on that thread.
