Hello. I always wanted to make an effective deck that was original to a degree and effective in a type one environment. In this particular deck thaumatog is the kill card. It is basically a combo g/w deck. The combo that is most important is getting out horn of greed, fastbond, and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds. When Oboro is tapped I can use the mana to return it to my hand using it's ability. Then I basically just keep on drawing until I come by a glacial chasm. It is most unlikely that I won't since I have 2x scroll rack and a crop rotation. Once I have the combo out I usually either clear the board with balance or place unquestioned authority on thaumatog.  But, right before the thaumatog comes out I'll play concordant crossroads. Then I will play crucible of worlds and as I sack lands to thaumatog I can bring them back into play creating an infinite loop. And to keep myself from drawing out I'll usually destroy the horn of greed with a naturalize or disenchant and of course sack the chasm before the kill. I know all this seems a bit complex to work, but I can usually draw as many cards as I want with the combo. Also besides attacking for infinite damage it is also possible to gain infinite life(thanks to zuran orb) or destroy all of my opponent's lands(by playing strip mine several times). And another important point of the deck is playing orim's chant to get by the countering that is present in so many type 1 decks. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this deck quicker or more effective in a type one environment it would be highly appreciated. I am on sort of a limited budget, but at the same time you can mention some cards that I may be able to get once I build up enough cash.

Lands
4x savannah
4x windswept heath
4x oboro, palace in the clouds
4x glacial chasm
1x strip mine
4x brushland
4x forest
3x plains

Spells
2x naturalize
2x disenchant
4x orim's chant
1x crop rotation
1x regrowth
1x balance
1x enlightened tutor

creatures
2x thaumatog

Artifacts
4x horn of greed
4x crucible of worlds
2x scroll rack
1x zuran orb

enchantments
1x fastbond
1x concordant crossroads
4x sterling grove
1x unquestioned authority

sideboard
1x feldon's cane (to get fastbond out of my graveyard if it ends up there)
2xacademy rector (to make fast bond easier to get out against a counter deck, where I'll be able to block creatures, or even balance it against an opponent with no creatures)
4x final judgement (against a large swarm of creatures when I don't have the combo)
2x skull of orm (in case fastbond hits the grave)
4x swords to plowshares ( against annoying creatures like platinum angel or darksteel colossus)
2x city of solitude (more anti- counterspell stuff)

If you could please help me make this deck into a more formidable type 1 deck I would greatly appreciate it. Smile

try searching for old turboland lists from before te gush restriction. there's a lot of cards that would make very good additions (exploration), and you have a lot of 4 of's that i don't think you need (glacial chasm, disenchant effects).... not to mention that you could make your kill a lot more compact.

in addition, i suspect black is a lot more efficient than white. it offeres duress, vamp, demonic, and sickening dreams (much better kill)

finally, workshops help you drop horn/crucible very early

You should be running Barbarian Ring.  There's no reason not to run at least the one in a deck that already has a big interest in putting Crucible of Worlds into play and already contains Crop Rotation.  This could possibly go in for an Oboro, Palace in the Clouds (of which 4 copies is too many).  It is fantastic against Goblin Welder, and you could accomodate it with just some minor diddling with the manabase (a couple of Taigas and a copy or two of Shivan Oasis).

I would also recommend Intuition.  It can get brokenness, tutor for Strip Mine once you have Crucible out, and tutor up an instant kill (Strip Mine, Barbarian Ring, Glacial Chasm) if you already have Crucible and Fastbond in play.  This is a strong alternate kill since you are (or should be) running all 3 of those cards anyway.

This list looks like the old Animal Farm(I think thats what they were called) lists that appeared after Crucible of Worlds came out.  Animal farm basically use Fastbond/Exploration to recur lands more quickly, then used Waste/Strip land to take out and opponent's mana base, then proceed to gain lots of life(Zuran Orb) and/or do lots of damage(Barbarian Ring).

I think that as your deck stands, it is a far cry from what could be considered Tier anything, here are my suggestions:
put in more disruption, such as Duress.  and because you would be adding black anyway, I suggest that you also add 1 Vamperic Tutor, 1 Demonic Tutor, and like 1 Pernicious Deed(either Md or SB). And with 4 Chasm's MD, the 8 Creature removal affects SB'ed are almost pointless.  Also, take out the Disenchant/Naturalize for Seal's of Cleansing, they can be gotten by the massive number of enchantment tutor you have and can be thrown down early while you are waiting to get your combo out.  Another option is to add Living Wish so that you have lands such as Dust Bowl/Rath's Edge/Glacial Chasm(if 1 isn't main) and have stuff like 1 Eternal Witness as a Regrowth effect that can be wished for.
