Pale Reflection
{2}{B}
Enchantment -- Aura

Enchant Creature
When enchanted creature is put into a graveyard, put a black Spirit token into play under your control with power and toughness equal to enchanted creature's.

***

The idea here is that the enchantment creates a shadow like that of the Penumbra creatures. Since many creatures have abilities, however, which this doesn't copy, I get to play off the cool name, "Pale Reflection" because the resulting creature has the same power and toughness as the creature, but none of its abilities. The words "under your control" may technically be unnecessary, but I figured they would help a little bit to clear up who gets the token creature.

***

Current Wording:

Pale Reflection
{2}{B}
Enchantment -- Aura

Enchant Creature
When enchanted creature is put into a graveyard, put a black Spirit creature token into play under your control with power and toughness equal to the power and toughness of enchanted creature.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Broken Visage. So it is. I had forgotten about that card. At least I have a template for this, then. So, marking the similarity, what do you think of this? It's not a combat trick at all, so it's definitely different enough. It is also, I think, more appropriately designed within the colour pie. Broken Visage is a ridiculous mish-mash. It only hits attacking (white ability) non-artifact (black ability, although one would expect "nonblack") creatures.

I'd call for more discussion on this, but I'm pretty sure that I nailed this on the first try. 24 Hour Clock.

Every token-generating card in this manner (like the reflections) OTHER than Broken Visage was White or Green, I think, but the existence of Broken Visage lets me feel comfortable putting this in Black, especially because the flavor is so good.

Thumbs up.

Before this gets finalized, I'd like to point out that the card that this is most like in terms of gameplay is False Demise (from AL and MM).  Does that have any impact on how you view this card?

Probably not. This is weaker in most regards, but I wouldn't want to cost it any lower. First, this generates a black creature. From a removal perspective, a black creature is somewhat more durable than a creature of another colour. Second, because this enchantment is black, it is in a better position than False Demise to actually kill the creature.
