Magisterium
{1}{W}
Enchantment -- Aura

Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature has "{T}: Remove target attacking creature from the game if it shares a color with this creature."

Return to your homelands and bravely proclaim the divine truth. Those who refuse to hear are not your true family, but servants of darkness.
--Primata Delphine

***

Magisterium - The authority to teach religious doctrine.

Very simply, this card grants authority to your creatures to preach. Naturally, their preaching will be most effective on creatures predisposed to listen.

***

Current Wording:

Magisterium
{3}{W}
Enchantment — Aura

Enchant Creature
You may play Magisterium any time you could play an instant.
Enchanted creature has "{T}: Remove target attacking creature from the game if it shares a color with this creature."

Return to your homelands and bravely proclaim the divine truth. Those who refuse to hear are not your true family, but servants of darkness.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I'm rather fond of the ability that says,
"You may play Magisterium any time you could play an instant if you pay {2} more to play it."

Of course, possessing that ability may require it to cost more anyhow. (See that [card]Rout[/card] costs {1} more than [card]Wrath of God[/card].) I guess the question is this: Should this card cost {3}{W} all the time and be playable at instant speed or should it cost {2}{W} normally and have the additional cost to play it at instant speed?

The Rout mechanic was also only on sorceries, so far. I like it too but I think it's not right for this particular card.

Gotcha. {3}{W} and always instant-speed playable it is. That gives it advantages and disadvantages comapred to Chastise, so I think it's about right. Anybody else have any comments on the mechanic itself?

Could you be more specific? Do you think it's a poor mechanic to use on a white card? Do you think it's a poor mechanic in general? Do you think that it's uninteresting.

I happen to really like cards that use colour as an enabler. It adds some flavour to the card and is a sufficient disadvantage that I can actually create a card that gives you repeatable, white creature kill.
