Just hint guys - in terms of your "most experienced staff" - have them brush up on some major type 1 cards and rulings like:

- knowing that if you mana drain a Chalice with X=2, you do get 4 mana next main phase, not 0.  2 of the 4 judges didn't seem to know this and they had to go to the head judge.  While he did get this correct, Mana Drain and Chalice are two of the most commonly played cards.

- have the judges brush up on the Dragon combo loop - again, a couple of them were totally unfamiliar with this interaction.

Just a suggestion.

thanks,

Bill

Since I'll be back in PA visiting my folks, I should be able to make it up for this.  I guarantee there will be no scrubbage this time either.  Coloardos nutsack will be resting gently on the Northeasts chin thats for damn sure.

Also to Dantes point, in my experience the Rochester judging staff is orders of magnitude better than the crew in Chicago.  They were just generally more knowledgeable and much quicker in returning with correct rulings.  Jeek FTW.

Matt said that he would have the judging staff go over those two points in particular before the event.

Plane tickets are still a bit too much, so I'm out for now.  I look every other day to see if they've come down, but alas, not yet.  I'm hoping to lucksack my way into a cheap ticket.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be in Indiana at that time. Sad  I'm leaving for home this Thursday, and staying until the 25th or so.  After that, I won't be back in Michigan until the 21st of December.

Matt - if you could make sure the head judge is up on these two rulings and that he passes it down, it would proactively help a lot.

thanks..

I heard nothing but praise for the judging at the last SCG Rochester.

Don't worry about it.

For this event I have two Level 3 judges and three Level 2 judges. I will pass this info along to them though.

Damn,

With a judging staff that competent I won't be able to Stile Boseiju, Who Shelters All for the win.  Sounds like a great alternative to the terrible Judging at Ohio PTQs.  I can't wait!

I am very dissapointed, but bizarre circumstances involving my girlfriend and a road trip to new orleans have made it impossible for me to attend.

I was looking forward to this one alot because I think the metagame is in for some changes.  Best of luck to meandeckers and I hope everyone has a great time!

This is the same thing that may prevent me from attending the double Richmond, strangely enough.
