What is 3cb?

3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows

Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand.
You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
Random effects always go in your opponent's favour.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
For each win, you score 3.
For each draw, you score 1.
For each loss, you get nothing.
Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC!

To make an entry, PM your deck to combo_dude in the following format:

Subject: 3cb Tournament #67 Entry or 3cb Tournament#67 Revision
Deck Name
Card #1
Card #2
Card #3

Optional Deck discussion, random sucking up, etc.

I'll close entries after 2 weeks. Get your entries in by 24th November and I'll calculate. As I said, the banned list may change within 48 hours of this post going up. After that, it stays as it is. This is not a reason to withold your decks, though - this is not a particuarly serious format! If something's broke, please fix it whilst we can!

Results will be up tomorrow - one thing I'd like to say is that "by 10th November" doesn't mean "on 10th November"; it makes life a lot easier if I get decks earlier rather than later. For example, five decks were entered in the last 36 hours - keep them coming, but keep them prompt!

Also, does anyone think that anything needs to be banned/unbanned? I haven't got any changes in mind, just wondering about people's opinions.

Next tournament will probably be a special format - watch this space.

More decks would be good...c'mon guys, did my plea for promptness sound that aggressive? Smile

I think the options for new decks are sort of dwindling.  Obviously there was new innovation with Searchlight but as far as decks go there are only so many kill conditions and so many hate cards.

I liked these a lot more when there were extra construction rules or stuff like Upwelling in effect. "Anything goes" is getting boring.

I know - I keep meaning to try a special format, and the next one will be that. The main issue is not thinking of a format, but creating a suitable banned list; that's the thing that takes a lot of time.

As a general note, though, if people want to try something, post an idea and/or PM me and, in all probability, it'll happen at some stage.

If I submit decks too early I find the wait for the results too annoying. I prefer to forget about 3cb for a couple of weeks then submit decks a few days before the deadline. Sorry.

Any idea when we'll get the results for #67 ? Smile

Just about to put them up now.

As for decks, I don't mind at all when I get them; it's only when a deluge of last-minute decks hit me that it can annoy me a little, because time is a fairly precious resource for me here - sitting down and doing all the results in one go isn't a problem, but I like to be able to know what I need to do at what time, and not have to go back to this once it's done.

Anyway, special format coming up...hope you all like it!
