I read the FAQ on player Rewards mailing and I am still a bit confused.  I have been in 8 sanctioned events, (7 since I registered for player rewards) and I have yet to see any cards.  I know they are done by season but the season has come and gone by a year since my 5th sanctioned event.  I even checked to make sure my mailing information was correct and that I was in fact signed up for player rewards.  Anyone have any wisdom they could give on the subject?

I can only add to your confusion. Last year I lost my wallet and my DCI card along with it. When I called them, they said I had to qualify for DCI rewards just to get a new card. Despite this my new card arrived at a different time than the DCI mailings (which I didn't get).

Even more confusing, I played in certainly less than 10 sanctioned events for the previous points period, yet I received a foil hippie in the mail as a reward. It was a pleasant surprise, but I now have absolutely no idea how player rewards work.

I haven't had a problem with them, over the last 2.5 years I've gotten 'em exactly like the FAQ reads. Tried contacting someone in wizards about it? (not just about the new card)

It counts total events played in since entering the program, and subtracts off the rewards you've already gotten.  For example, let's say you have these events in these months (and assume 4 month periods), and 0 events before this:
Jan: 3
Feb: 2
Mar: 5
Apr:  1
--------
May: 3
Jun: 2
Jul: 4
Aug: 7

For the first period, you have 11 events, so you get 2 sets of tokens (5 events each).  The next mailing has you with 27 total events.  At this point, you should get 1 foil promo card for the 20 events, and then 5 sets of tokens for having 25 events.  However, you've already received 2 sets of tokens, so you should expect 1 foil promo card and 3 sets of tokens in your 2nd period mailing.  Then suppose that you play in 15 events in the next four months.  That brings your total to 42 events, so you've accumulated 2 foils and 8 sets of tokens.  But you've received 1 foil and 5 token sets already, so the next mailing will give you 1 foil and 3 sets of tokens yet again.

Why don't they just write that in the FAQ??? That explains so much, and is actually a pretty cool system.

I play in few sanctioned events (my schedual sucks sometimes) yet now JD's system has me confused, lol...

On the first mailing I received I had played in 7 or 8 events since signing up, along with my new rewards card I received 1 Promo Textless card and 1 goblin token...in the next mailing I had played in like 4 more events (11 or 12 total) and once again I received 1 Promo Textless card and 1 goblin token (yay for useable tokens!)

Where I lost you JD was when you stated you had to receive 2 sets of tokens first before you got a promo card....am I just reading you wrong? Are the textless spells counting as "tokens?"

So why haven't I received anything?  That is what confuses me, I have done 7 events since the registration into rewards, and even if one is recent I should have received some shipping by now..  I'm just wondering if I need to contact their customer service.

You aren't the first to say this ...
i've had players lose their cards, not be able to activate their cards, etc ...

I think Wizards has to get on the ball, and get a new website up for their DCI card holders ...
Like as soon as you login, tell you if you are qualified for the rewards program, how many tournaments count towards this months/years batch, etc ...
I don't like their website now ... I think its unattractive ... lol yes I used the word unattractive to describe a non-pornographic website! Razz

They give you the token packet these days (the sealed thing).  I think it counts as two sets, since it has 2 textless cards and 2 tokens.  My info is what I remember reading off the faq like a friggin year ago.

My packet contained for both of the last two shipments, 1 textless spell and one goblin token....maybe this is "one set?"

Yes, two tokens is one set.  You get two tokens/textless cards for every 5 events.  I seem to recall that I received 2 sealed packages with 4 cards each in them last time.

Seems to me that they only did mailings twice a year to some areas, but that might just be my memory making things up.

When they sent out the Hippie mailing, I had 8 events on my DCI tournament list (and I'm signed up for Player Rewards, which is how I can see Match History) and I got nothing.

I'm very close to contacting someone because I have been part of player rewards since 3 months after two regionals ago, and I have had 5 events for about a year now, I mean I'm not expecting much, but I would like to see that the system is actually working and get a hard copy of my DCI ID.

Now I'm really confused: I've played in more then 30 Sanctioned Events and still only received 2 tokens and 2 Textless cards, and those were in just one mailing..

Yep, I'm definately getting more and more unhappy with player's rewards with every post.  I understand that this is free, but people are making money off this stuff and I'm stuck with nothing after investing in time researching into this and also trying to register, reregister, checking to make sure personal information is right etc.
