In No order.
1) Vroman: Made a horrible deck, and top 8ed in April. Made a better version, and took first in July. Played the same deck, and took first in October. I trashtalked him a ton, and he said nothing. Actions speak louder than words. Congrats. 2) Smemmen: I've watched him play twice only, doomsday and GrimLong. Both times, his concentration and attention to details (yes, others get annoyed by it) just astounded me. 3) Rich Shay: Though I've never watched him play a single game in person, we all know why he deserves this spot. and probobly top on the list. 4) JDizzle: the man plays combo. The man plays combo better tahn anyone i've seen. 5) Matt Endress: I watched Matt play so many times, even played against him at the WI tournaments. His team reinvented how oath should be played, and he plays it well. 6) Dan Carp: Love him or hate him because his ego, he seems to play very well. That, ontop of his amazing workshop aggro lists that will continue to win. 7) Me! Because nobody else has been banned from the star city forums FOUR times. 8) Brian Demars: His accomplishments over the last year show for themselves. and he hates annoying canadians, so he's cool. 9) Probasco: Again, his accomplishments and innovation show for themselves. 10) the Lorenzo dude: another inovator. 11) JuggernaughtGo: I REALLY dislike him. I will admit though that even with piles, he seems to do well. 12) Eric Miller: Riddler. Need I say more? 13) Matt Morrison: For playing a GOOD stax varient that doesnt play Tangle wire and DOES play chalice. 14) Roland Chang: for being a cool asian dude 15) Bob Yu: Same as roland.

1. Rich Shay 2. Koen 3. Peter O. (Dice!) 4. Rich M. (Shockwave) 5. Brad Granberry (Rico) 6. REB (Jesus) 7. Godot^ (caret) ((Jim) 8. The Drizzle (J.D.) ((Justin)) 9. Cron (Vampire) 10. Teh Brassy Balls (Andy P.)
This is pretty much it for me. I doubt I could legitmately think of anyone else to add. For community purposes Jacob would obviously be on here too then.

Naming 15 is pretty generous, so I'm going to go with the Power 9 with no particular order...
1.) Steven "Vintage Mastermind" Menendian 2.) Kevin "DSC" Cron 3.) Rich "Atog" Shay 4.) Andy "Brassman" Probasco 5.) J-Dizzle "Combo'd you out" Droba 6.) Mat "Just Say Combo!" Endress 7.) Robert "Uber Uba" Vroman 8.) Jacob "Time Travelin" Orlove 9.) Brian "Slaver is ALIVE" Demars
I would add my name to the list, but f--- that, only 9 spots and I ran out. Oh darn...
When their powers combine, they make Vintage cool!

It took some effort, and I had to reread a lot of articles from the past year, but I managed to come up with fifteen In no particular order. Except for Brian because he effectively got me off my ass and playing Type 1 again;
Brian Demars Robert Vroman Stephen Menendian Justin Droba Mat Endress Jacob Orlove Roland Chang Andy Probasco Peter Olszewski Travis Laplante Josh Franklin Ugo Rivard Rich Shay Bob Yu Kevin Cron
Honorable mention: Paul Nicolo, because we would have been playing the same deck that day (well, I played one more Standstill than he) except I couldn't get there because I am enslaved by Hungry Howie's.

Because apparently no one else pays attention to European results, I guess it will be up to me to try. I don't know all the screenames/handles, so I'm going to skip that for now. Based on 2005 performance and influence, here is The Sweet Sixteen (in no particular order; my apologies in advance for any misspelled names): Roland Chang (USA) Lorenzo Fideli (Italy) Filippo Grigatti (Italy) Koen van der Hulst (Netherlands) Peter Olzewski (Canda) Kim Kluck (Germany) Andrea Garella (Italy) David Beduzzi (Italy) Steven Menendian (USA) Marcus Quandt (Germany) Marco Ardoino (Italy) Robert Vroman (USA) Hero 't Mannetje (Netherlands) Rich Mattuzio (Canada) Pietro Cavalletti (Italy) Rich Shay (USA)
Honorable Mentions/Runners-Up/NotQuiteEnough/MaybeNextYear: Andy Probasco (USA) Ugo Rivard (Canada) Justin Droba (USA) Thomas Pittner (Germany) David Besso (Italy) Gaby Van Dinteren (Spain) Carsten Kotter (Germany) David Morales (Spain) Kevin Cron (USA) Danilo Benvenuti (Italy) Marco Marotta (Italy) Oliver Daems (Germany) Oscar Basart (Spain) Serge Metz (Italy) Hugo van Dijke (Netherlands) René Rifisch (Germany) Peter Matyssek Daniel M Paardekooper (Netherlands) Travis LaPlante (USA)
Special props go to Ray Robillard, MaxxxMatt, and RVS for their constant reporting of results.
Obviously this might seem Italian dominated, but if you pay attention to the quantity, quality, and size of all the tournaments around the world, you will see the same names keep consistently doing well. To me, an Italian tournament of 100+ people is more relevant than an American tournament with 24 people.
If I get more time, I might do a Top 15 All-Star team for each of the major regions. I would like some input from people in those regions outside the USA (Spain, Italy, Germany, Canada), if anybody is willing. You know, that way each country/region could have their own all star team with which to battle. I'm curious to see how people from each region view their own players, as I am only a spectator going by what/who I see consistently in global Top 8's.
EDIT: I knew Koen was from the Netherlands but I typed it wrong; awesome.

Wow Jaco, the french never get any love I guess...heh...how about Stephane Tichadou for winning the French Championships and numerous other power events in France and elsewhere in Europe?
heh, my list
Robert Vroman (hmm, uba stax was good last time I checked) Roland Chang (well he did win the world champs right? heh, I guess thats good) Steve Menennnendiana (probably the #1 reason a lot of newbies play T1) Ugo Rivard (several SCGs under the belt, very nice) Rich Shay (I basically run Atog in every deck I play now...) Justin Droba (thanks for helping combo survive, heh) Kevin Cron (Stax-a-licious) Andy Probasco (I really hate gifts, lol...thanks a lot for making it better) Peter O. (eh...even though we apparently dont get along..good job man!) Hale Simon (yay for putting Dragon into the world top 8...)
Sheesh is 11 enough?
Oh wait...Kowal too so I dont get assasinated by a ninja whilst I am sleeping...

bram Thanks a bunch for the nomination, but as the others have correctly estimated, I SO do not belong on that list. If this was a biggest forum whores (or to put it otherwise: community cornerstones) election, I might be justified in appearing on the list. Playskill-wise (and influence-wise, too) I just consider myself fortunate that I'm not on the bottom 15 list Koen van der Hulst (Germany) He's actually from The Netherlands, though. I'm completely in favor of him appearing on the list, by the way. Go Koen!

Wow Jaco, the french never get any love I guess...heh...how about Stephane Tichadou for winning the French Championships and numerous other power events in France and elsewhere in Europe If I could actually find any results about Magic in France, I may have included him on that list. I just can't find enough results on the Intraweb. Similarly, if I could find more results about Spain, guys like Gaby and David Morales might have made my top 16 as well. But I don't think they report as much, because every time they do, some random assclown on these boards always seems to just discounts any results they post, which I'm sure discourages them from further postings.

@ JACO...I think that www.solomoxen.com is the primary frenchie site...maybe that will help...although I know of zero Spanish sites, heh... @ Jacob...it should be of note that the Ruel Brothers who are two of the top composite frenchies (well two of the best overall players in the world too I guess, heh) also happen to play T1 in France and also happen to make top 8s there from time to time...

The two most relevant spanish vintage sites are www.elsantuario.tk and http://www.perracomics.com/perrera/index.php. In those sites you can find almost all the information of spanish vintage tournaments. Gaby van Dinteren and David Morales are really good spanish players, but they are not the best ones. Alejandro Escribano (the guy who split the finals with Stephane Tichadou on the French Vintage Championships) may be the best spanish vintage player, and Jose Luis Gonzalez Requejo is another name to remember.
