Seahawks? Steelers? Panthers/Bears? BRONCOS?
I have no doubts that Denver will win it this year. The AFC championship will be the steelers at DENVER and we all know the AFC is a much better conference than the NFC.

My vote goes to the Steelers, mainly because it would be nice to see Jerome Bettis get a ring. He has been a class act guy his whole career, I never heard the guy complain once, even when the Steelers had him the third string running back a year ago. But my gut tells me the Panthers will win and Jake Delhomme will be the Superbowl MVP, mainly because my Saints traded him away. Every player that the Saints trade against the fans wishes goes on to be a star for another team, and its only fitting that while were drafting either Young or Lienhart, Jake Delhomme will polishing his freak'n Superbowl Ring.

Denver is 10-0 this season at home. Rothlesburger is a joke, and the Steelers can't run shit vs. the league's 2nd best run defense. I predict Ben throws 3 interceptions. 2 to Champ, and 1 to Darrent. Unless Jake the Mistake shows up at the AFC Championships, Denver should take it. Oh, and the NFC is a joke. Seatle lost Alexander, so the Bears might be the NFC's only shot. And they're definitely trailing Carolina right now.

Seeing as how Detroit dosen't have a football team, I've been rooting for Denver all year. They're playing real well right now and will be a tough matchup for anybody. I don't see any of the remaining teams stoping the Broncos!
Go Denver

All the teams left are great.
I'd have to go with the Seahawks. Just wait and see what they can do with Alexander back.

Since Bears are probably losing this game, last two teams worth jack are just Broncos or Steelers. When it's all said and done. CO > New England. Tom Brady, welcome to thunderdome, bitch!

If I had any faith in him when the pressure was on I'd go with the Broncs, but Bailey was the only reason they even won the game last night. Whoever wins the Pitts/Denver game will win the super bowl, but I wouldn't bet on either team if I had too. On the other hand, Seattle will smash the Carolina chumps who let the BEARS offense score 3 times on them.

BRONCOS!!!
They have been my favorite team sinse I was 6 years old... I cried when they lost to Jaxonville in the playoffs in 1996... And am a huge John Elway fan...
They have let me down the last couple years... but with Indianapollis out of the equation... I think they can really make a run at it...
Seahawks are very tuff at home so it will be tough for Carolina... And the Steelers arent exactly a push over for Denver, but I take Denver because they are at home and can run the ball on anybody (unlike the colts aparently).

Broncos beats Seattle by 6
There's no way Pitt can win in Denver. Denver has the best rush defense left, and Champ is going to laugh at anything Roethlisberger has to throw. Pitt can't jump out to an early lead against Denver, largely because unlike Manning, flushing Plummer out of the pocket makes him better. And if you think Seattle is loud, you should be at a January game at Mile High.

Yeah, nothing like a bunch of Denver fools to stand out in the frigid ass cold of a Rocky Mountain winter cheering for the Denver Broncos. I HATE that stadium. I hate the Broncos, too, but that is a separate matter. Steelers all the way. Roethlisberger's arm, and the lack of gloves, will take it all the way. Steel man from a steel town. Harkius

That's very true. The Texans will take Reggie Bush and the Saints SHOULD take Leinart, but they will probably end up going with Young. All the good Quarterbacks in the NFL right now are pocket-passers. Brady, Manning, Carson Palmer, Delhomme, etc. Rothlisbergher might spark an argument, but I would put him in the pocket-passer category because that's what he does. Brady can run too, but both of these guys are known for solid, accurate passing. Vince Young uses his legs more than I would like, and I feel he's too confident in them. The falcons don't lose because Vick uses his legs, they lose because he gets injured. Leinart is more accurate than Vince Young and makes exponentially better decisions when faced with a blitz. If you ever watch the kid, it's amazing. He just looks past the rushers coming straight at him and completes a pass. He also has confidence in his team, while Young has confidence in himself. You need a quarterback to lead a team. Moreover, Young left his college after his junior year, clearly indicating that he's in this for himself, and not for Texas. Leinart did the absolute opposite. After the Rose Bowl, Leinart and Bush approached the Texas team and gave them congratulatory honors. That is CLASS ACT. I'm not sad at all that he's not going first in the draft, the Texans absolutely need a strong running back, and dare I say it, but Reggie Bush will most likely be the best that has ever played his position. He's absurd. Moreover, to back my calls up, I'm undefeated in calling the playoffs, and I will go with the following: The Steelers will beat the Broncos by 7. Carolina will beat the Seahawks by 10. Carolina will win the Superbowl by 7. Even though I would love the Steelers to finally get one on Bettis' fingers. I agree with the above statement, CLASS ACT guy. EDIT: Carolina apparently couldn't produce against the Seahawks, which is laughable. I'm so incredibly glad, however, because Bettis will finally get his hands on a ring. Or, his ring on a hand. Err. Hmm.

If Shawn Alexander is healthy and his concussion doesn't affect his play, the Seahawks should win easily. Â
I see them playing the Steelers in the final, unless of course Denver manages to play a lot better than they did against New England. Â Yes, they gave Tom Brady his first playoff loss ever, but look how badly the Patriots played. Â They lost three fumbles, threw two interceptions, missed a field goal and committed eight penalties... They won yes, but they have to play better than that to beat the Steelers.

Ever had a concussion? It sticks with you. Everyone here is big on numbers, so lets look at some. Denver ranked second in the league in Rush Defense, allowing an 85.2 ypg average. This is against teams who feature, Tiki Barber, Larry Johnson, and Ladanian Tomlinson. Sean Alexander isn't going to break the game, the combination of fast linebackers and solid play from Defensive linemen takes away the excellent cutback ability that Alexander posseses. The same goes for the Pittsburg match-up, where the defense will put the entire game on Roethlisburger's shoulders, and while he's proven he can do it, he hasn't proven he can do it from a losing position. Denver has a complete team, with weaknesses in the receiving corps and the secondary, where they still have stars in Rod Smith and Champ Bailey. Mile High Closed in 2000. The new stadium is Invesco Field @ Mile High.
It's Mile High. I hold season tickets, and I don't hear anyone other than the commentators using the proper name. It's the fans that make the Mile High Thunder.

Going to have to agree here...no one in the Rocky Mountain region calls it Invesco, except on advertisements and commentators. All of the fans, all of the people anywhere near there, call it Mile High still. Probably always will. People are creatures of habit, after all. That's what gets those silly mountain folk to stand in the cold for 4.5 hours screaming about the Denver Broncos. I wish them good luck, but I still hope the Steelers take it. I came from Wyoming. We tend to dislike the Broncos...they are the only team close enough to count as a home team (even 400 miles away...), but as we are basically forced to select them as our favorite team, I tend to be spiteful. And, as a result, I vote for the Steelers. Cheers, Harkius

I predict that the Vintage Avant-Garde is going to win the Superbowl this year.Â
Brian DeMars has been playing great all season long, and I think he has what it takes to lead his guys to victory on the field. Also, Josh Franklin has had a breakout season this year, and looks to be making a strong claim for the Rookie of the Year Title.
Plus, being from Michigan they are going to be a strong fan favorite at Ford Field.
@ JD: Pistons are a lock for the NBA. Not even the Avant-Garde can take on those guys!

Assuming the Martian team can handle the 0.17 G Lunar Stadium, they're the clear favorite to win--unless, of course, that ban on robots actually goes through. In that case, it'd be anybody's guess.
Oh wait. By "this year" did you mean 2006?

I guess that is an option. Unlike rooting for Tampa in ice hockey (since it seems so damned ridiculous to have an ice hockey rink anywhere that it doesn't actually freeze during winter...so, anywhere south of Nebraska), this wouldn't make me feel like a traitor to the sport. In theory, at least. For some reason, though, I just never have been able to get behind anything for the Carolinas...maybe it was that whole Roanoke thing. I guess I might have aandonment issues. :p Harkius
