Hello,
I know you must get these posts all the time, but what would you all recommend for a ten-proxy tournament that's happening in my area soon? My cardpool is mostly Legacy; I have a few duals, and I built 5C Dragon for Waterbury this year, but didn't get the chance to go. Should I stick with 5C? What is the best choice for an unprepared metagame? Since this is New England, I assume there will be Drains in force (no pun intended). I have most of Two-Land Belcher but Belch just loses to itself. Basically, what should someone with relative playskill and a reasonable cardpool build without knowledge of the metagame? I haven't played Vintage in quite some time, and my efforts to keep up with Control Slaver and Gifts and what have you have been a little behind. So also, if you could review your recommendation in light of matchups, I would definitely appreciate it. This is for all intents and purposes my first Vintage tournament, and I would be glad to have your help. Thank you.

GWS Oath isn't that hard to learn and should be pretty good against the NE field if you don't run into combo.

Fish also another good option, fist will always be around since its so versatile that you can tweak just to what ever your meta is.

Currently the best colors are U/W (the best), and U/B (second).

Should I stay UW if I go the Fish route? I have pretty much the entire deck that won the previous Waterbury (I even managed to find Icatian Javelineers I had hidden away Mr. Green). Are they still important for taking down Welders, or should I have a less metagamed list because I really don't know what I'll see? What would be your suggestions?

Also, do you still suggest Choke-tech for GWS Oath seeing as I'm likely to be playing against a lot of blue? Does Gaea's Blessing still have a function (I'm not sure if this was to stop the Laquatus kill of Dragon)? Have there been any updates since the GenCon Worlds? And in light of any changes, what's the SB strategy? Basically, bring in Tinker->DSC against anything without Welder? Sorry for my lack of experience here. This is my base: http://sales.starcitygames.com/deckdatabase/comparedeck.php?deck1=14157&deck2=15238

P.S. Sorry, I wasn't sure where to put this thread originally, I'm glad it found a home.

Thanks,

Blessing is to reshuffle your library after you put it in the grave with Oath.

You can read a lot about Oath here:

I would highly suggest testing the deck a good amount since you seem to have never played the deck before.
