Each player may search his or her library for up to X creature cards and put them into play, where X is equal to 1 plus the number of all cards named ~this~ in all graveyards. Then each player who searched his or her library this way shuffles it. A straightforward idea, with interesting applications. Something like Eladamri's Call is also possible (c.f. Weird Harvest) for Green, and no doubt would be cheaper and safer. If we're talking tutor cards, that would be safer than the above card, and could be turned into a cycle (any card for Black, instant/artifact for Blue, sorcery for Red, creature for Green, enchantment for White). Whether or not they get put into play/played is a development idea, but it's something for us to discuss! Edit: Since the discussion has gone down the path of general burst cards that are reasonable sorceries, here are some possible cards, presented as current wordings. Current Wordings
Lightning Burst
 
Sorcery
~This~ deals X damage divided as you choose among any number of target creatures and/or players, where X is equal to 3 plus the number of cards named ~this~ in all graveyards.
Elephant Burst
{G}
Sorcery
Put X Green 3/3 Elephant tokens into play, where X is equal to 1 plus the number of cards named ~this~ in all graveyards.
Death Burst
Sorcery
Target player sacrifices X creatures, where X is equal to 1 plus the number of cards named ~this~ in all graveyards
Aura Burst
{W}
Sorcery
Search your library for an Aura card with converted mana cost of X or less and put it into play attached to target permanent, where X is equal to 3 plus the number of cards named ~this~ in all graveyards.
Ebb Burst
Sorcery
Put up to X target creatures on top of their owners' libraries, where X is equal to 1 plus the number of cards named ~this~ in all graveyards. |

I like the idea, but you've got to make it worse than Chord of Calling though, or it makes no sense. Even at sorcery speed.

This is absurdly broken. The deck playing it gets to grab something ridiculous like double sundering titan, while the opposing deck gets a couple of werebears or something.
Tooth and Nail style cards have to cost 8+ mana, and that defeats the whole purpose of the burst effect.
Make this do something other than tutoring, and make it not symmetrical, and then maybe the burst effect will be relevant.

I realise it's stupidly powerful (anything that acts as tutor + enabler usually is, and I have heard of Tooth and Nail), but this is still in the brainstorming stage, so it's OK to suggest stuff, even if it just gets discarded.
If the point was just to make more powerful burst effects that are also sorceries, then here are some ideas:
Black - Raise Dead, Dark Banishing, Diabolic Edict (discard has been done)
Red - Shatter, Arc Lighting, Stone Rain, Pillage, Threaten (burn has been done)
Green - Creature tokens, Naturalize, Regrowth (pump has been done)
Blue - Clone, Twiddle (bounce and card-draw have been done)
White - Demystify, Opposition, Protection, Glorious Anthem, Righteousness (life gain has been done).
If I've missed anything good, post it here, and maybe we can come up with a nice cycle.

Red could be Cabal Ritual! 1R, sorcery, Add {R}{R}, then add for each... it's a lot like Desperate Ritual, in that you need mutliples to do anything awesome with, but it's a sorcery and not arcane, so it's probably about as good. |

I just really like how much more powerful threaten gets when you steal multiple creatures and attack with them all. Three creatures versus three creatures turns into five on one with just the second casting!

The White one is a nuisance, since Green has done pump, but perhaps something Vengeance, Gift of Estates or Terashi's Cry is possible. I'm trying to think of a White one that doesn't suck...

Land fetching at 3 is pushing it, but land fetching at 4 is laughable, especially when it doesn't even put it into play (another possibility for Green, come to think of it - a Rampant Growth effect). Tithe would be awesome, though, or Vengeance would be quite good. These could also be 2CC if we're looking to ramp it up a bit, or there could even be multiple cycles (gasp!).
Threatening Burst at 1RR is do-able, though, since it's not broken in constructed, and making it rare or uncommon would stop it busting limited wide open. I quite like Arc Lightning, personally, because people would actually play that in constructed if it was a good card (unlike Threaten, which would only see play in Block, if at all), while not being broken in limited because it wouldn't be common.

I was going to suggest rampant growth, but that's not only weak as a regular spell, but it actually gets weaker later, even if you're getting multiples. I think that's something we should avoid if we can.

I agree, but thought it was worth mentioning. I like the token creature, personally, since it's something that will have a reasonable effect on the game. White could also make tokens (swarms of small tokens perhaps), or do something with Spirit Link just cos I like the ability  . |
