Does anyone have any predictions they'd like to make? There are no prizes at stake as such, but here's a nice simple competition for everyone. Note that there's not long before the event starts, so best be quick Very Happy.

Edit: With Anusien entering the decklists for SCG (good man!), I've been able to go through the top 8 and put the answers in.

SCG Duel for Duals Prediction Contest

Total Number of Players (within 50; 1pt, within 10; 3 pts, exact; 5 pts)
67

Top 8 - most played cards in each colour (1 pt each, bonus 2 pts for 7+ correct):
White - StoP
Blue - FoW, Remand, Reset, Impulse, Brainstorm, High Tide tied
Red - Goblin Lackey/Matron/Piledriver/Ringleader/Warchief, Mogg Fanatic tied
Green - LftL, Elephant Grass, Argothian Enchantress, Enchantress' Presence, Exploration, Sterling Grove tied
Black - Duress
Artifact - Pithing Needle
Land - Mountain
Gold - Sterling Grove, Vindicate tied

Most played card in t8 (2 pts)
Mountain

Most common colour in t8 (2 pts)
Red

Most common deck in t8 (2 pts)
Goblins

Winning deck (2 pts)
Solidarity/High Tide

Winning deck's colour combination (+1 pt for each correct colour named, -1pt for each incorrect colour named, min. 0 pts, max. 2 pts)
Blue/U

I haven't put a player category because it's too hit and miss with a GP going at the same time. Other than that, you stand to win nothing other than an ego boost, but have at it anyway Very Happy.

I think the most surreal thing is when a complete stranger you meet at a tournament hears your name and goes "Oh, yeah. I've read your stuff." It's kind of weird, yet feels good all at the same time.

Correcto. I figure Goblins or Thresh has the best chance at winning, so instead of going for 3-4 points or 0, I'll take the safe bet at what wins.

I thought about that, but to win you need to do better than a lot of people, and so going for maximum you have a better chance of coming first than by hedging.

For what it's worth, no more entries will be accepted, nor edits allowed Very Happy.

And we're done. Congratulations to Machinus and Blackest Lotus for tying for first with 8 points! With a maximum of 25 points on offer, I can't say we did terribly well this time, but then, it was a very different top 8, with Threshold not present, and the only blue cards being in a mono-blue combo deck Very Happy.

For those wondering, I counted gold cards as their individual colour and as gold cards, which saw Sterling Grove appear twice (wtf), and I counted sideboard cards as being part of the deck.

I almost got the correct answers out of the lists, but I realized how much work that would be and decided not to.

For the record, I think most everyone thought you meant "nonbasic land" for the Top 8, but it doesn't turn out to matter.

Well, Machinus and Blackest Lotus are tied, but since neither of them got points for the total # of participants, that seems like a fair tiebreaker, which means I'll be giving Blackest Lotus a custom title, as his guess was less wrong.

That, and Machinus can give himself a custom title anyway. Perhaps you'd like to give Machinus one of your choice for coming second? Seemed to work for Matt Very Happy.

I don't want to nerf for points, but yes I do.  I guessed FoW and Brainstorm would be TIED.  That should totally give me 2 points.  That should totally tie me for first.  And since I got 3 points for attendance, that should totally make me the winner.

Edit -  Very Happy

I was using attendance as a tiebreaker because neither of them got any points for it--otherwise I'd be overweighting it. For you, we'd have to use a different tiebreaker, but if Godder gave you 7 points, then that's the value I used.

Perhaps you'd like to give Machinus one of your choice for coming second? Seemed to work for Matt.
Actually, I gave Blackest Lotus the title of my choice, because there weren't enough participants to merit the two CT prize.

Well, Machinus and Blackest Lotus are tied, but since neither of them got points for the total # of participants, that seems like a fair tiebreaker, which means I'll be giving Blackest Lotus a custom title, as his guess was less wrong.

Actually, the tiebreaker we used last time was order of entry, which is why Matt won even though we got the same amount of points. I don't care about the prize though.
