Taken from www.eudemonia.net/p9 :

Eudemonia is holding a series of nine Type 1 Constructed tournaments with each having a Power Nine card as the top prize. The schedule is:

Sunday, March 19, 2006    Mox Pearl
Sunday, April 2, 2006    Mox Emerald
Sunday, April 23, 2006    Mox Ruby
Sunday, May 21, 2006    Mox Jet
Sunday, June 11, 2006    Time Walk
Sunday, June 25, 2006    Mox Sapphire
Sunday, July 16, 2006    Ancestral Recall
Sunday, August 6, 2006    Timetwister
Sunday, August 27, 2006    Black Lotus

[Format] Each tournament will be run as a series of swiss rounds, concluding with a cut to top eight. Besides for allowing proxies, all DCI rules for Type 1 Constructed tournaments apply. Blank decksheets will be provided and decklists are required for each event.

[Time] For each tournament, registration begins at 10 AM and play begins at 11 AM.

[Location] Tournaments will be held at the Eudemonia store: 2154 University Ave, Berkeley, CA. Downtown Berkeley BART is two blocks away.

[Entry Fee] The entry fee is $20 for each tournament except the last. The entry fee is $30 for the final Black Lotus tournament, except for those that win free entry from placing in previous tournaments. The entry fee also includes two free hours of computer time at Eudemonia for the day of the event.

[Prizes] First place receives the prize advertised for that event. For the first eight tournaments, second place will receive free entry to the Black Lotus tournament along with a first round bye.* Additional prizes will also be awarded to second through eighth place at each event, and a prize will be awarded at random to one player each round. *If the second place finisher has already received a first round bye for the Black Lotus tournament in this series, they will be awarded an additional bye, for a maximum of two round byes.

[Proxying] The tournament format will be Type 1 with up to 10 proxies allowed. Any deck containing proxies must be sleeved with opaque plastic sleeves. Proxies must easily be recognizable as the card they represent from the face, and must be made such that they are not easily recognizable from the back or when shuffling the deck. Contact the store if you have further questions about the proxy policy.

[Cancellation] With the exception of the final Black Lotus tournament, if fewer than eight players register for a tournament, it may be cancelled.

Hope you all can attend as many of these as possible...great event series! We will have stuff up about it at http://norcalmagic.proboards79.com as well

So. Cal. will be there to represent!
So far it looks like me, John, Shris and Gio for sure, and possibly 2 others.

Scott, we need some info on a place to stay Saturday night that's close to the event.

Wish I could just cram you all into my place...but its too small for more than maybe 2 extra people...The place I stay also has a Hostel section though I think and you might find cheap rates there...ill try to find out some info for you.

There are a number of relativly cheap hotels in the Berkely area near Eudemonia, for them id suggest a site like expedia or travelocity for booking (or better yet AAA and just pretend you are a member if you dont have a member in the group..great rates through AAA)

Otherwise id post something up on the NorCal boards about needing a place to crash...I am willing to bet you could find somebody whod let you crash at their place. Wish I could help you more, shoot me a PM if you have any other questions and we can try and get you guys set up somewhere.
