Thanks to Peter Sieb for typing all the lists! Well, it was his team's lists anyway... Smile
Congratulations to team ibay for placing all his members in top 8 once again!

I myself left Horden Tendrils untouched this time and played the infamous Land Combo that placed 13th. I fizzled myself out of top 8 (and so did my 2 team-members, too), but in the end it was fun after all.
I also applaud to Oliver who finally brought his Staxx build to victory again.

Cheers!

Togless Tog (ich nenn’s einfach mal so)

Since I just copied one of Lorenzo Fedeli's recent decklists (and added some minor individual "improvements") the appropriate deckname is probably T1Tog. Not that it matters much.

Why do Europeans like U/R stax?  The idea has been abandoned in America for quite some time in favor of UBA or 5-color.

 @ Tanglewire in Uba stax.

Because apparently, it still wins tournaments?

In the living room, Navidson discovers the echoes emanating from a dark, doorless hallway which has appeared out of nowhere in the west wall.

U/R Stax features more powerful cards then the mono red version.
And manabase is superior to the junky 5c version Manabase.
So i think there is nothing wrong about playing the U/R Version.

I saw some UBA Stax Lists featuring Tangle Wire and it was not that bad at all, it gives you the time u need to find your components or to shut down an Angel till u can weld in a Duplicant.

I also think that 5c is superior to the UR list but Oli plays this list since years and therefore plays it flawlessly. THis makes it better for him.

I am still puzzled why americans are puzzled about the other metagame Europe has. In Europe for example TPS never was out of grace and now all of a sudden there were 3 TPS builds in a major top 16 in the states. Perhaps the states should look more closely to Europe instead of the other way around.

Why to play 1 staxx over another, i have no idea, never played staxx, probably never will as i do not like it one bit. Not to play, nor to play against it hehe. The only thing i like about it is that it has no countermagic hehe.

I could not agree more.  Cool

I think, whether or not UR Stax is inferior to UBA or 5c, it is still consistent and therefore always capable of winning a 24 ppl contest.
And of course what Heiner says is true, it is the deck Oli plays with eyes closed and hands tied on his back.
