We have a variety of Vintage goodies on hand to scale up the prize structure for this event, should we get greater than usual attendance (as we did at our February 11th event), so grab a friend and make plans to come for a fun day of Magic.

I'm curious to find out if players would be interested in Collector's Edition power prizes for some of the 2nd and under places. Sound off and let us know your thoughts.

Thanks!

I'd take em.  They make good proxies outside of the huge events, and make better proxies for test decks.  That said, I doubt many people (including myself) will be interested in taking them at their ebay values, even as prize support, so I wouldn't do it unless you already have a surplus and want to get rid of them.

Not sure if I'll make this one.  It's a lot of driving.  If I can con someone in to bringing me along and charging minimal gas, I might make the trip out.

I'm probably going to be making it up for this.

I'm not a big fan of CE in the prize structure, for the record Very Happy

Dan,

can we please not have CE as prizes? Since I'm not exactly up to date on making fake power, CE is basicly worthless to me.

Glad to hear you guys will be able to make it this weekend. This is an excellent chance to test for SCG.

Regarding CE power as prizes: if we do end up using something like that as part of the prize structure, we'll have it as an option for the appropriate winner rather than a static part of the prizes.

Remember, we'll be scaling up the prize structure for 32+ players, so be sure to bring your friends and look forward to a fun day of Magic!

I should be able to make it up there and will be bringing almost a full car with me.  If I find out definitely that I'm going we will Preregister but I'm not 100% sure right now.  Hopefully I'll see everyone up there.

You can preregister through 11:59 PM tonight and be sure have your deck list prepared ahead of time to avoid deck registration errors. You can print it out using your preferred program or use our snazzy new Myriad Vintage Deck Registration Sheet.

The details for our April Vintage Tournament have been posted here.

We'll look forward to seeing everyone here tomorrow!

I'll be headed up there with a carload of peoples. Looking forward to the competition, after all, a 32 man tournament in New England is the same as playing the top 16 tables at a SCG/Waterbury.

We had 23 players. Crossman Wilkins took 1st place and won a Mox Ruby. Derek Carrier won 2nd place and a Mana Drain. Everyone had a great time and received door prizes including Myriad Games Mana Cookies.

I'll be on vacation for about a week, so it will be a bit until the decklists and full report are posted.

Thanks again to everyone who attended, and we'll look forward to seeing even more of you at our next event on April 8th.

Yes, Travis got smoked in top 8 because he forgot to say "2nd main phase"  Burning for 5 off drain mana, the next turn saw a FoF cast and countered, then I died to beatings from nimble mongeese.  The 3rd game I had a good will set up, but like an ass hat I played my underground sea for no reason, it got wastelanded and 1 turn later I drew Yawg will and couldn't find another black source for 3 turns then I died.  A hand with 2 stifles was revealed to me at the end of the match.

I learned alot about playing gifts just from 1 day with the deck instead of online, expecially the fact that you can still win, even without win conditions.  Final round of swiss I got paired down and had to play, yet I could still draw in to top 8.   I won game 1 after about 25 minutes it was a long game involving yawgmoths will in the graveyard and 3 null rods in play with me and a ton of moxes on my side.  I scrolled for hurkyls recall with 2x force backup and finally was able to bounce his nullrods at the eot and win on my turn with flamevault.  However, the mana was extremely close, and could have just won with burnng wish, tendrils.  That situation repeated itself all day, every game I could win with flamevault I found I could have won already with tendrils with less risk involved.  I decided since then to run flamevault win in the sideboard along with titan, for extra win conditons against fish and null rod aggro.

Game 2 he smoked me in about 10 minutes leaving us about 20 minutes to play game 3.

I boared in my titan for game 3, I get first turn tinker for colossus with no force, he has first turn swords, I go to 31.  Over the next 2 turns, he casts 2 extracts removing my titan and time vault, that left me with flame fusilade as my sole win condition, yet I was at 31 life  At this point it had already been 10 minutes of him searching through my library, so I became control.dec.  I countered a bunch of his creatures and cast a total of 3 gifts ungiven to fill up the graveyard with permanents and I ended up mystical tutoring for fusilade with about 5 minutes left. I could have won the game straight out if I had gifted so recoup would end up in my hand instead of the grave, but I wasn't thinking ahead enough.  I could have killed him with 1 fusillade for about 14 then recouped it and cast it again for the win, but I was forced to recoup will to get all my permanents on the table.

He dropped a meddling mage on recoup right before time was called, and I was still above 20 life.  I bounced it and then went into the yawg will turn, and time was called, I took a time walk turn and fusiladded him for 14, but at that point he had no way to kill me so we went to draw and I made it into top 8.

Very very rarely do my matches ever go to an unintentional draw, I think I may have had 3 in the past year, 1 in the first round of waterbury last spring another vs kyle leith in new york and saturday.

I suppose this situation raises a moral question.
