Hey guys, I just ran across this auction on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/MTG-Magic-the-Gathering-CCG-Lot-Black-Lotus-MOX-Time_W0QQitemZ8765568458QQcategoryZ49194QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemLooks bogus to me. The same guy (with 14 feedback) also just completed auctions for an Unlimited Black Lotus, Mox Jet, and Mox Sapphire. Same as on this auction, he claims that he does not know if those are real. Here's the links for those 3: Unlimited Lotus: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8767260657&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Unlimited Jet: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8767262608&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Unlimited Sapphire: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8767234165&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Check out this statement from his auction: TACUNE’S MAGIC STUFF
Hi, you're bidding on a RARE Unlimited Black Lotus Card, in fine condition. Please try and use the grading as well–it’s included below and I’m pretty picky about grading.
ALSO--ALL MY CARDS ARE IN ENGLISH UNLESS THE AUCTION DESCRIPTION SPECIFICALLY STATES OTHERWISE).
This specific item is sold "AS IS" because I won this card and the rest of the Magic the Gathering Power9 set in a Type 1 magic tournament in Santa Monica California. The grand prize was the full set of Power9 I don’t know if they are real or not cause I honestly never got them PSA approved. But there was over 350people in this tournament and it was a $10 entry fee so I would assume that all the cards are in fact real genuine Magic the Gathering P9 cards. But if you do win I recommend that you send it in it would probably come back as a real Magic the Gathering UNLIMITED Black Lotus card! ^^ Please read the rest of my info. -If this guy is so picky about grading, how can he not know if power cards are real? -He's claiming he won the FULL SET OF BETA POWER 9 as the grand prize at a power tournament, AND he won an Unlimited Black Lotus, Mox Jet, and Mox Sapphire... all for a $10 entry fee with 350 entrants. That entry fee would barely cover the two black lotus's, much less the rest of the power cards. -How can somebody waltz into a tournament, win 12 power cards out of a field of 350 people, and not even know how to identify if they are real? -I emailed this guy and he claimed that he needs to sell these fast for a down payment. Didn't say what for. I told him that there's NO WAY he is going to get his value out of those auctions, and that he would have made thousands more selling his cards to a legit business instead. He wants to go ahead and sell them now because he wants cash now. This is such bull it's amazing that some people will fall for it. But it still pisses me off that he's trying to do it.

I am baffled how this guy expects to fool people. This is probably the most obvious fake I have ever seen.

That is such an unbelievable item. How can people get away with selling 'catsuits'?
This guy is screwed up.

He has 0 feedback from buyers. These are definitely fake and I would stay away from them. As Nightmare pointed out, he bought them AS PROXIES, and is reselling the exact same cards. I wish there was some way to get eBay to shut this guy down, but at the moment their company doesn't care that much about fraud.

I would like to say something that will be said in this thread, and then disagree.
"Whoever buys these cards deserves to get their money stolen from them."
No they don't.
People are stupid, yes, but that's not an excuse to just steal money from people. Fraud is illegal and should be prosecuted. This guy knows what he's doing is illegal. He's making up very transparent lies.
Don't you think there would be some record of this tournament where he won a FULL POWER NINE SET in CALIFORNIA (of all places, completely void for the most part of Type 1 tournies), on themanadrain.com?
The simple fact is that this guy is a liar, a cheater, and a thief, (a HORRIBLE ONE at that) and he should not recieve sympathy or excuse from anyone, especially on TMD.
Moreover, this guy is stupid. These are the most transparent lies I think I've ever seen.

I can almost guarantee no such tournament was held in Santa Monica, ever. The best tournaments I recall from that area were some Beta Sol Ring Tournaments a year or so ago.
IF someone was to buy these, the store could be used as a third party, but I doubt he'd go for it.

Here's an update: I have been talking back and forth with that yahoo over email. Telling him that we are onto him and it's easy to see he's a scammer. At first, he tried to play "good guy" and act stupid to how much real stuff is worth. I made it pretty clear to him that either he's selling his own power at 1/3 it's value and ripping himself off, OR he's selling fake cards as real cards. Which is a federal offense due to copyright, and against Ebay Policy for another. Here's a direct copy/paste from his last email back to me. Haha you say all this stuuf like ur so smart but u knoww I never said I won the tournament and lawfully I never said they were real and lawfully I am not able to be accuse of false advertisement cause I have said nothing wrong I am not squirming just playin playa haha [smile] I have done nothing wrong and am proud so say so so lets just here a little more now about how I am stupid and wrong and a thief cause all my friends and I are getting a kick out of it mr teacher oh and btw I really dontknow if they are fake cause they look real but I never checked thru pas
He kept trying to insist that he really won them in a tournament for awhile. So I kept replying and tell him to list the tournament where he won them. He keeps trying to drop that subject, because there wasn't one.

Here was my response to him: playin playa ?!?
Who do you think you're fooling? I'm not buying it, so you are only fooling yourself. Your claim of winning those in a tournament was a bald faced lie, you bought them on Ebay for $17. That whole story about 350 players, and an ENTIRE SET of power 9 for first place was a complete fiction.
You go way out of your way in your auction to state (I never had them PSA graded) and crap like that, but at the same time you claim to have won them at a tournament with 350 other people that appearantly would have also picked them out as fakes if they were. You lied to create credibility to your possible claim of them being real. Why? BECAUSE you want people to think they are real and pay you more money.
Playa's are not cute, they are not friends, they are selfish theives. You know damn well that the guy who pays several hundred for a fake card is going to feel cheated. You don't care about them, you care about yourself. Nobody else following this issue is buying your story, YOU are appearantly the only one believing that your not a total scumbag for doing that.
I reported your auction to Ebay awhile ago. I've emailed your buyers to let them know what your scam is. If you really were a good guy, you would return their money and cancel/update that auction you still have.
It's up to you.

"The seller ended this listing early because the item was lost or broken."
Nice Job Eandori. Its really scary to buy power over Ebay....even when the auctions seem real.

Wow, I'm honestly suprised he shut the auction down. Usually, scammers will go to any length complete the scam. I wonder what he is going to do with the other people who bought his other auctions, the lotus, sapphire, walk and jet? I know one of those guys already paypal'd him. I think one other never sent the money. Don't know about the other 2.
I'll send him another mail, thanking him for doing the right thing and asking if I can help in any way. Who knows, maybe he was driven to this because he needs money badly? I don't know. If everybody comes out even in the end, and he learns something from it, then it was a good learning experience.
Thanks for the support guys, you rock.

um, i'm pretty sure you had little influence on HIS decision, and ebay intervened instead. If i was ripping somebody, i couldn't care less that somebody was trying to patronize me. so...save your thank you's because he's just going to come back. but good job keeping up with it.
