I would like to host another TMD Open somewhere near the end of May.

Ideally, for me...Memorial Day weekend would work, though I imagine many people will be doing other things that weekend.

So, tell me honestly, which of the following three dates would work best for you.

Please, answer honestly.  An answer of all three just to appease when not true is not helpful.

Thanks as always, guys, for your time.

I have commencement the 21st, and I'll be heading home right afterwards, so I don't think I could make any of those three weekends, sadly.

I would like to have it Memorial Day if others can make it too, but I would probably be able to make it down no matter what.  Thanks for setting up another Waterbury they Always rule.

Just for a note Memorial Day weekend is also Anime Boston.  I'm not sure if this will hurt attendence a lot but its something to remember before voting.

I could make any of those weekends.  Just don't overlap with with the SCG events in Charleston or Rochester.

Hey, ya! I'm dumb...I didn't realize the next SCG is the June 4th weekend and I have no intention of conflicting with Pete...I will scratch that from the poll.

Regionals (Type 2 for nationals qualification) are the 20th weekend, I believe, I don't think you really want to go up against that, although the player overlap probably isn't that big.

I'm available for any, personally.

I received word back from the Marriott...they have the ballroom for Memorial Day Weekend, but sadly, they are completely booked from sleeping roomds(it is a huge travelling weekend).

My next consideration is July 8(since pretty much everything in between is booked a conflict).

Anyone see a reason why the July 8th weekend is bad or can you make it?

I believe the Coldsnap Prerelease is the weekend of the 8th and 9th in July (the set releases on July 21st).

Looking forward to the next Waterbury!

I'm looking at the following schedule:

May 27 (Memorial Day weekend is good, but Mariott is sold out of sleeping rooms)
June 3rd (too close to Rochester SCG)
June 10th (Rochester SCG)
June 17th (Beanie 4x Workshop)
June 24th (Battlegrounds + kinda close to Beanie + Origins)
July 1st (Origins SCG)
July 8th (Coldsnap Prerelease)
July 15th (RIW Event)

I think I may have to go with May 27th and warn everyone to book rooms at nearby hotels now, since they may not last.  Opinions?

I'd be fine with Memorial Day weekend and I'll have 3-4 with me.  Waterburys are always a blast so I'll be there.

I think memorial day weekend would be the best, just as you said for people to find hotel rooms to stay nearby.  Having monday off may also add some incentive for people who are traveling far to attend as well.

I personally knew of alot of people who skipped waterbury in favor of anime boston. you dont want to conflict with that event.

At most 10 people don't show if its on the same date as Anime Boston.

I'll have my Car full of people ready to come to Waterbury no matter the date.  Waterburys are the best events, Anime Boston has nothing on it.

I love comming down to waterbury as much as the next dude, but finding another hotel to me is logistical insanity, it raises the cost to attend by almost twice for most people (due to the increased room rate) and also it would be a pain for groups of people traveling with one car to go back to the hotel and sleep if one person is in the t16 (usually lasting till after 3-4 o'clock in the AM)

staying at the marriot and room hopping after scrubbing hard to me is as great a part of the tourney as the cards themselves.

please please please don't hold this memorial day weekend

I thinki May 27th is the best.  I would LOVe to come up if you did it then.

Also, the SCG in July is in Charlestone, not Origins.

I could definitely see the lack of sleeping rooms being a much bigger issue than the scheduling being somewhat close to Charleston.  While I personally don't care either way (I'd be there regardless) it's always nice for the boost in attendance.

Problem w/ no sleeping rooms at the marriot is that there may not be many sleeping rooms in general that weekend. If they are booked, whoes to say that the area can handle another 100 or so people trying to finds rooms this late?

I'd have thought June 3rd makes sense...doesn't directly conflict, and people won't be deterred from SCG because they played the week before or vice-versa...will they?

I figure people kind of get magiced-up by these big events rather than magiced-out.

I personally can't make anything past June 20th or so.. and being that I drive, the guys that go with me would be SOL.

My best advice would be to pick a date, and have everyone schedule that into their calendar.  You'll never find a weekend that 100% could make it.  Waterbury will rock, as always!!
