Now that we have started having more michigan tourneys I would like to know who all would be interested in a large scale tourney (think moxen) and if so would anyone be willing to judge.  I'm trying to help the TO find a judge which will greatly speed up the process of planning this thing.  As for when it is that is unknown but there are two facts:
#1 it will be in the summer
#2 it will be with plenty of notice.

I would be interested. If we're playing for power, I know several people who playtest with me that would definitely play. I think, including myself, I could convince 3-5 if given enough notice.

In Central Illinois, we occasionally have power tournaments for a $20-$25 entry fee with a minimum of 20 participants. With the showing last month, I think it would be easy to get at least that.

I may mention that the orignal guess at the cost would be $15 a person though that is in no way a guarantee.

I'm definitely interested.  Though, I'll be in Ann Arbor during the Summer (and well, for the next four years O_o), but I'm sure I can make it down one weekend.  If only we could get the tournout we got at the Lotus tourney last January (which I took 2nd at, thank you very much.).  That was awesome.  You should get a hold of Bill (at least, I think that was his name...I don't remember) and figure out how he managed to draw that large a crowd.

But yeh, I'm in.  We should let people know at the April 8th tourney as well.

And we should definitely make it at Pande, 'cause they have a massive MtG crowd that will play any format for Power.

It would only be at Pande if pande was running it or a large amount would have to be paid hense entry fee would go up.  It's being run by Bill's (Bill no longer deals in cards) partner at the time.  Cost is a big thing because they want the entry fee to be lower.

I'm glad I'm starting to get a roll call for people who would like to come.  I'm going to check with the TO and see if there is any new news.

Where is this going to be held at?  I'm definitely interested in playing for power.  I do know a couple of judges I can talk to once you start getting the date and venue set.

I know I saw this a little late but, Legacy in the Traverse city, mi area is Huge.   We are all Vintage and Legacy players up here.  Standard just never caught on here.   I could bring around 20 people with not too much problem given a lil notice.     We typically have 30 person tournies every week on Saturday (non-sanctioned).  I bet they would love to play for power since most people can't afford stuff like that anymore.   Our Sunday tournies (Vintage) are hurting because of the lack of power vs the people who have it.

If you need a place to set it up, I know the store owner here very well and could easily set it up, though of course it's a lil far north.   I might could get a judge, but I know the 2 that play regularly wouldn't really want to judge as they wouldn't be able to play.   We never had much need for judges here.

Where were you thinking of trying to hold this?   Livonia is about as far south as most will go since no one likes Detroit.   Grand Rapids would be ok though.

If this is a case, in addition to wanting to go to the Mox tournament, would anyone else from the South-eastern to Central Michigan area be interested in car-pooling to a Traverse City event something in July or August?

I don't know what prize support you're thinking of, but I have a few extra Unlimited Time Vaults that I'd be willing to sell to the T.O. for very cheap (recover cost for myself at $30) if you need something else. Spencer, let me know. I'd like to see these tournaments happen on a larger scale, and getting rid of my excess vaults isn't really a problem.
