Mike, the Tournament Organizer, asked me if I would write a report on the Legacy Blue Bell Tournament - which I agreed to.
Blue Bell is probably our favorite local tournament go to, and I'm not saying this because I'm getting some kind of compensation for doing it - I'm not. They were alot more professional this time around than they ever have been before, complete with deck checks (and as always, registration) they also had an on-hand level 1 judge, as well as many judges actually playing in the tournament (but not being compensated for judging). I think Team 0-2 Drop has 3 judges among them, one of them level 2 - they might even have four level 1 judges.
Anyway, I would definitely recommend anyone to go there, especially to participate in upcoming Legacy events.
This is ridiculous. There's not even any content here-- You never once mentioned anything relevant. I'm issuing a full warning here. If you're going to post, don't half-ass it. -Kowal[/color]
EDIT:
Sorry Kowal, I'm not gonna delete your warning, I sent a message to Jacob explaining that I didn't mean to post like I did, and that I would edit accordingly - he unlocked the thread so I could edit it. Again, very sorry.
Unfortunately, this is only a mini-tournament report because I can't reveal the decklist of the deck I piloted to a 1st Place Finish at Blue Bell. There weren't a ton of people, I don't know exactly how many there were, but there were few enough for us to cut to a Top 4, with minor disagreements of a few people saying that we should still cut to Top 8.
The tournament was held at MCCC (Montgomery County Community College, I think is the full name) in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, right outside of Philly. We all sat down to play Legacy after our Vintage tournament, which was alot of fun as well. We played in the Cafeteria on the bottom floor. Yellow chairs surrounded about 20 tables, all pretty small but big enough for two people to play on - they were usually not very gunky, although a few of them (as always) had stuff on them, but we could just pull them to the side.
The dealers there were exceptionally nice, with a few of the guys pricing things REALLY cheaply but not having a huge stock (I got a foil Karn off them for FOUR BUCKS, for instance), and other dealers having a large selection and pricing decently. The only thing I couldn't find were Granite Shards (obviously), but I wasn't really expecting to.
Anyway, sorry everyone if you didn't get much out of this, but Blue Bell is definitely a great place to play, and if you're in the NJ/PA/MD area, you should definitely come up to Philly (where Blue Bell is located, it's generally outside of it on the northwest side I believe), and play some Legacy or Vintage. I don't know if Mike's going to offer Legacy events in the future, as he probably only broke even or got a little bit of cash from it. First place was 4x Sinkholes or 4x Force of Will, second place was whatever first place didn't choose, and I think small prizes were given out to 3rd and 4th.
The prize structure goes up based on attendance, which is nice. There's going to be a Lotus given away in five weeks, so be sure to look on the Vintage announcement boards for that.
Kowal, I promised I would write a tournament report for Mike, but didn't really want to post the decklist or even hint to the cards in my deck, as we're trying to keep it secret for a while. If this is worse, please just delete the topic, as I really don't mean to clog the boards with bad reports - I actually realized after I promised Mike the TO that I would write one that it was going to be lockable, but I didn't expect a full warning. I apologize for that.
