So I might fly to a friend's graduation in Galesburg, IL. Trouble is, I have to fly to Chicago. She mentioned something about taking a train from Chicago to Galeburg that would cost me $18. Anyone from Chicago familiar with the train system of IL? How far away is the train station from Midway? Does it run all night? What's the schedule? I tried looking for a site, but couldn't find one. Any links? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

it would probably be a metra train, but FYI even the L train doesn't run all night at Midway....somewhere around midnight or so, cabs and buses are it...

If I remember correctly, The "L" trains are off from 1-5am...I've had quite the debacles downtown from forgetting that little nugget.

Our cabbies are just like everyone elses - They don't speak english, and you want to get in and out ASAP.

Though I must say, they aren't 1/4 as nuts as NY's.  But they're a class in their own.
