Hi everyone, this is my first post.

Today I was thinking about a deck that I used to love to play and that is ridiculously inexpensive, burn. So here's the challenge, I'm trying to make a burn deck that is so easy to pilot it would be almost impossible to misplay, and that is packed with as much burn and as little thought as possible. Here is a list I came up with off the top of my head.

Auto-Includes

[4] Lightning Bolt
[4] Chain Lightning
[4] Fireblast
[4] Incinerate
[4] Magma Jet

Other Burn

[4] Cursed Scroll
[1] Black Vise
[4] Shrapnel Blast
[4] Flame Rift
[4] Browbeat
[2] Firebolt

Broken

[1] Wheel of Fortune

Mana

[1] Strip Mine
[1] Mox Ruby
[4] Wooded Foothills
[4] Bloodstained Mire
[6] Mountain
[3] Great Furnace
[1] Barbarian Ring

Help/Comments Appreciated

Lava Spike?  Also, in any type of competative area I would cut Flamebreak, maybe for Pyrostatic Pillar.  And Mox Pearl for another mountain.

Edit: Heaths for more Mires.  Flame Rift.

I would cut the power and make it a vintage deck. I have been playing red for a while, and red cant win in T1. if opponent is playing tendrils, red doesnt win, if opponent has a tinker, you ose. oath, you lose.

I made my sligh deck legacy, and it does a lot better ther. just check www.morphling.de  , you will see what I mean.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Have you got a current list you could post? Also, you could always look into Scent of Cinder, it can be pretty savage a lot of the time.

I've been playing slaver for quite some time, and one of my buddies always ran sligh. It was such a bitch to beat that deck, becuse he would burn my face in before I could really get moving. Granted, I was missing about 4 pieces of power, but using the direct damage on welders and REB'ing my counter magic made the matchup far closer than it should have been.

The deck has promise, but with that being said I would never feel comfortable bringing it into a large tourny.

I would suggest Cursed Scroll, Black Vice, Shrapnel Blast, and Browbeat.
Why do you run one Fork if they are not restricted.
I would also suggest not splashing white if it is only for Lightning Helix.

Ok, thanks for the comments. I updated it and Cut some of the sub par burn (firebolt, seal of fire, etc.), helixes (and white altogether), and mogg fanatic for shrapnel blasts and cursed scrolls and black vise. Also added browbeat.

I'm liking this list a lot better than the original one I posted.

How do you guys feel about dropping mogg fanatic?

I also cut lotus becuase it's honestly not really needed IMO and I cut the lone fork

Black Vice is restricted.  I don't know how many artifacts are needed to make Shrapnel Blast useful but you could use artifact lands to up the count.  Also four Shrapnel Blasts may be too many.  Barbarian ring may be useful.

Thanks for pointing that out. I dropped 3 vise and added 3 great furnace. Barbarian ring seems good but it might be too slow and I want to keep enough mtns to make fireblast work consistently.

-3 Black Vise
-3 Mountain

+2 firebolt
+3 Great Furnace
+1 Barbarian Ring

I had a friend who used to love burn. As far as I remember he won most of his games on the back of huge Price of Progresses. That was back when eveyone was just running one safety island though so it's not as great as it used to be. He also used Fractured Loyalty in the SB as an anwser to Tinker-> Colossus.

I would not cut mog fanatic. I would go

+ 4 mog fanatic
+ 4 grim lavamancer ( with 8 fetches, this baby is a chock a turn)

+ 4 wastelands !!!

wastelands are one of the few cards red has to stop multicolor combo decks. destroying a U sea can win a game sometimes.

Browbeat is a great card, but not in a meta filled with drains. just when you are about to win, you browbeat, he drains, and then you lose. browbeat is more of a legacy card imo. same goes for ball lightning.

shrapnel blast is great, but it can be a dead card a lot of times, especially with only a few artifacts.Plus, when its countered, you lose 2, and they lose one.
