http://www.sirlin.net/archive/playing-to-win-part-1/

There are other links at the top to related articles such as the "survivor" article, article 0, etc.  Try and relate them to your own thoughts related to teams, combo decks, scouting, etc....

these aren't new, but good to bring up every 1-2 years to get people to think about why and how they play.

just in case anyone was confused, this isn't something I wrote or am taking credit for, just found it somewhere and thought it was relevant.

I was going to say "I think this is already in the must-read articles sticky," but it isn't there anymore.  It's a fairly dated article, but nonetheless I do agree that everyone who hasn't read it should do so.

Those articles are pretty much my Bible.  There really isn't anything else to say.

Been reading all of them articles and although they are about computergames, it fits to magic pretty well. People that say they have the intention of winning should read them. I allready had a couple of those beliefs but the articles added some new ones that hopefully make me a better player. I still consider myself a scrub though. Not because i give myself all kinds of rules outside the normal rules frame, but just because i have a soft spot for scrubs...

Still very nice articles and very good to read, all of them. I particularly liked the one with the television gameshow as a basis of the article.
