http://www.morphling.de/coverages/top8decks.php?id=84

Still waiting for Trader to publish Top3 decks so I can get Ribbecks list (UGr Madness)

2 Team CAB members finished Top8   Very Happy

I think there were about 15 Iso Keeper , NO Dragon 4-5 Mask 4-5 Tnt and 2 Blood Moon control decks which made Top15

There was some Dragon, at least a friend of mine played it.
and seriously, I think there was even more Iso Keeper, or just Scepter control. (it's a bit too general to call them all Keeper).
I played U/R Bloody Scepter and it was sick how many scepter you saw coming across.
one game I faced a first turn scepter with a Chant, which I tried to counter with 2 Fow's, and he protected with 2 FOW's. with empty hands I drew 2 scepters and layed a Mana drain on a scepter, too stop some Chanting. then we both dropped a Fire/ice on a scepter and somewhat after that we consecutively Cunning Wished for Rack and Ruin in our own turns to take care of both. later I got a Ak for 3 on a scepter and proceeded to find that my kill cards were all the way down in my lib, after which I died to the no cards that were left.. it was all sick the scepter magic.

btw, next to all the scepter Keeperish control there was also SlaverScepter and SlighScepter. too many Scepters for me that is..

Well, hopefully these results will serve to indicate that Madness is still a very competitive deck, and can be taken in several different directions to good results. In my opinion, it is competing with TNT as the best aggro deck in Vintage, and has one signifcant advantage in that it dodges all the artifact/enchantment hate that hurts TNT.

I am looking forward to seeing Ribbeck's Survival Madness build as well. I got in touch with Serge Metz after the rest of the T8 was posted and was informed that, among other things, it was running a Gaea's Cradle Exclamation and sided Uktabis and FTK.

I do not understand the merits of the straight R/G build piloted by Serge Metz other than that its less susceptible to Wasteland and Blood Moon, though. I think blue is key in the non-Survival builds because of Careful Study and Deep Analysis. Without them, the deck is a lot less consistent and explosive. But given the matchups he told me he played against, I can see how he did as well as he did.
