Mindstab 5B
Sorcery
Target player discards 3 cards.
Suspend 4-B

This card was posted on the MTGSalvation forums, and is from a reputable French magazine.  Now, this is just my opinion, but it seems like this card would be an excellent sideboard choice against both Gifts and Control Slaver.  Obviously, they can just empty their hands, but what will effectively happen is that the opposing player is forced to try to play the fast game with a slow deck.  Presumably, you can then take advantage of that, the most obvious way of doing so being that you can play spells when they tap out their mana.  In a way (a roundabout way), this card could be played like Wrath of God; you force them to overextend (by tapping more mana than they want to, as opposed to playing creatures), and then you make them pay for doing so.  What does everyone think of this?

This card just seems too unwieldy now that misdirection is reasonably common again.  It won't necessarily even be that effective since your opponent gets to choose what to discard, and the fact that it has to wait 4 turns to become active is a huge downsside.  Duress is a much better disruptive card than this, and mind twist is a much better bomb, since you can nuke your opponents entire hand.

Mind twist is waaay better, and no one plays it.

I cast mana drain and have 5 mana to sink into gifts and yawg will. Thanks for the tic-mark in the W column.

this card really is terrible. it allows your opponent to gain time to 1. find a drain 2.deplete their hand 3. fill their hand with unworthy cards, that they can choose and discard.

the discard selections could atleast be at random, unlike duress where you choose what exactly you want to take out.

i cant see any viable type one decks running this card, maybe it'll be played in type two or something.

I think this card rocks in T2 and constructed, but it just doesnt do it in T1 for the reasons stated above. In slower formats, your opponnent will have to empty their hand, or just try and counter it, but in T1, its mana drain fuel, or MD fuel.

Cant wait to use it in constructed though Smile

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)
