I just saw this was not on here. I think most dutch players know about it, but I want to at least give a heads up to the germans and belgian people (or maybe the french?) who think this is worthwhile enough to come, to make it as succesful as last year Open Dutch Vintage Champs (190 people, the max).

Dutch Open Legacy

costs: 15,- (including entrance fee to Spellenspektakel)
Format: Legacy

Prizes, among others:
Several Premium Cards;Meddling Mages,

I assume so, and it isn't finished yet.

I was playing badly, so I stopped.

As soon as I see any info, I'll post it here. If I don't see it in the coming week, I'll call some people and harass them about it for you Smile

Attendance = 132 players.

No, he did not. If anyone is surprised, they do not know him as well as they think they do :p

At least this time, I did manage to not forget to give him back the cards I loaned for GP Lille last year Smile

It was a nice tournament overal, eventhough it was pretty warm in the tournament area. Also a lot of German players, the top tables were packed with Germans at the end of the swiss... I guess we need more decent Legacy tournaments to do well.

132 players, and the top 8 was:

1 4c Landstill
1 TerraGeddon
1 3c Hanni Fish
1 (Small) Pox
1 RW Goblins
1 Green landdestruction / Terravore deck (Crucible/Ghost Quarter/Trinisphere/Green landdestruction spells)
2 Decks that are unknown to me, they lost in the quarters..

I won the whole thing with my team's TerraGeddon list, which by the way is truly insane. I'll post a report later.

Terrageddon sounds interesting, I found an old list.. but I suppose lots of things have changed since then:

4 Savannah
4 Plains
4 Windswept Heath
4 Wasteland
7 Forest

4 Terravore
4 Birds of Paradise
3 Mystic Enforcer
3 Exalted Angel
4 Werebear
1 Crucible of Worlds
3 Trinisphere
4 Armageddon
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Thermokarst
4 Ice Storm

Congratulations to everyone in top 8 =)

That list actually looks like Patrick's landdestruction deck (3rd place), but not like ours. A report is coming soon enough.

The only way I won from that guy was because of Life from the Loam. But it nukes so many other decks.. He played a total of EIGHT Poxes! And Pox, discarding Nether Spirit isn't half that bad..

Yes, I had the "fortune" of losing to it in the very first round of the tournament. Still, it's a great deck and my opponent played very well so all the credit to him for making top 8 with it Smile

Also, nether spirit is a house against any deck winning with non-evasive creatures, and with the new smallpox I really think it's a deck that wil see more and more play.

So I definitely had a good time yesterday with the Pox deck.
My list:

4 Duress
4 Innocent Blood
4 Dark Ritual
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Sinkhole
4 Smallpox
4 Pox
3 Nether Spirit
3 Chimeric Idol
2 Crucible of Worlds
16 Swamp
4 Wasteland
2 Cabal Pit
2 Mishra's Factory

SB:
4 Infest
3 Spinning Darkness
3 Funeral Charm
3 Oppression
2 Cabal Therapy

In the finals I had a very tough time with (read: lost because of) Life from the Loam. While making the deck I didn't consider that card at all. So I would replace the Oppressions in the SB with Tormod's Crypt. The Oppressions are probably overkill against combo, while the Crypts can cause extra trouble for other decks as well. But the maindeck was performing very well.

I almost can't tell you how cool I think it is that you made the finals with Pox. This is an almost 1 on 1 copy of the Pox build I played in Vintage several hundred years ago (except, ofcourse, for the smallpox, and the mana base, which included lotus/jet and no cabal pit).

That's it. I'm playing Legcay from now on Smile

Should suit you better, since you didn't bother going to tournaments anyway, and there are next to no legacy tournaments to go to :p

Congrats to Hugo and Rudie, and the other T8'ers. Well done!
