Location- Cary, NC at the Sports Zone: Saturday, October 14th, 2006

We only got about 12 people, VERY disappointing, so we ended up playing for a Mana Drain and not the Pearl. Second place was an underground sea. If we are going to have these events ever again in the future we need the full support of the local community. This is coming from a player, not the store... I just want to play some vintage; I don't care about profits. Anyway, I talked to the owner and he doesn't seem so sure if we'll be doing another one anytime soon. I really enjoy playing in these things and I think everyone has a good time, so please, if you can make it next time please come out. When is good for everyone? The store is really flexible so if you want to play just speak up and let me know when is good for you. I didn't take any pics because of the poor turnout, and I didn't grab the decklists either. Here is a pretty short report:

Top 4:

1)    Jeremy Sauld *3-0-1* (Tyrant Oath)
2)    Adam Weinstein *3-1* (U/W/g Fish)
3/4) David Earley *2-0-2* (U/W Fish)
3/4) Cody Vinci *2-0-2* (Drain Tendrils)

Jeremy Sauld (Tyrant Oath) *Defeats* David Earley (U/W Fish) in 2 games

Cody Vinci (Drain Tendrils) *Defeats* Adam Weinstein (U/W/g Fish) in 2 games

Jeremy and Cody split with Cody getting the Drain and Jeremy getting the Sea and cash. Hope to see everyone next time.

Meta was something like 2 Drain Tendrils, 1 Oath, 1 Keeper, 1 SS, 1 Grim Long, 3 Fish, 1 CS, 1 U/W Control and 1 Burn. Wee!

Peace

Due to some expenses involving my girlfriend, I am not really able to make it to any of these.  If there is one during December though...at least toward the middle, I think I can make it.

At least that means Cody got his fourth drain, right?

EDIT:  sorry for the necro, but I really don't want NC Vintage to die, and I wanted to show that I will be in a better position to support the scene in the future.

Thanks. It's definitely not dead. There is a group of 8 or so going to Roanoake. Once the SCG event is out of the way we should be planning another NC vintage event for something nice. There's a ton of support in the area... we just need to get all of that support to coincide on the same day Smile
