What: Legacy tournament

Entry is $15

Where: The Soldiery

4256 N. High St.

Columbus, Ohio 43214

When: December 17, 2006

Registration starts at 12:30.  Tournament begins at 1pm sharp.
Last time the tournament went until around 8pm.

Note:
Let's talk about prizes. We have a large prize pool available. We haven't come to a conclusion about prize structure yet, but we are open to suggestions. Usually we give out a mox for first place in Meandeck Open events, so we can do that here or we can make the prizes equal out to what a Pearl would run. This means stuff like Blue duals, FOWs, Meddling Mages, Bazaars, Mana Drains, etc. We don't have anything set yet, but rest assured that the prize will be really freakin' juicy and equivalent to a Mox. We can also take the prize and make it filter through the T8 so more people get prizes, which sounds pretty attractive.

Also: this event will be sanctioned and judged. Don't forget your DCI number! With GP: Columbus coming up after the event, this is a good place to test your deck or cut your teeth on the Legacy format. If turnout for the event is promising, we'll hold several more tournaments leading up to the GP.

Hope you can make it!

We shall see what we can do about showing.  (Team Predict that is)  I'd like to thank Meandeck in advance for helping our humble format.

Is there anyway you can arrange to have this be a GP Trial with the DCI?  Having 3 Byes at GP Columbus would be a big incentive to showing up for a lot of players (and would allow you to make the prize payout be for the whole Top 8 while still maintaining an incredibly strong prize for the winner in addition to whatever "goodies" they get).

I think we'll try for later ones to be Trials, I'm not sure. I'll ask the TO.

***PRIZE STRUCTURE***
Door takes 30%, what's left is divided:

1st: 60% of cash pool
2nd: 30% of cash pool
3rd: 10% of cash pool

If we get a stellar turnout then the prizes will trickle down and increase.

"The Weathermen" (Formally C.H.U.M) are planning on coming. We are very excited for this and if anyone has a problem with getting down there we may have a seat or two available. We are coming from Milford so the less north of there you are the better. PM me if you are interested. This is gonna be the shizzle.  Wink

Although this is only 10-15 minutes from my house, I'm skipping this due to personal differences with the store owner. I will, however, tell my friends about the tourney.

If someone will fly me out and house me, I'll go.  I'm sure I can scrounge cards from somewhere.

I'll be in attendance barring freak accidents.

Some questions:

#1:  I'm showing up the night before, is anyone able to pick me up from the airport (in the process of moving back to the east coast, Airline Tickets: $150  Entry Fee: $15 Having fun while moving?  Priceless) and have a place for me to crash/hotel room to split?

#2:  Is anyone headed back to Rochester (or through Rochester, ie on the way to Syracuse, Albany, MA taking on 90 East) that I can hitch a ride with?

Hit me up with a PM or e-mail at freakish777@gmail.com

again, e-mail = freakish777@gmail.com

being light on resources, I could use some help (I'm obviously more than willing to offer gas money on the ride back part and money for the hotel room to split but having to get a hotel room for myself + cab ride to the hotel + cab ride to the event + bus trip back = money not well spent when I can be maknig friends).

Jesus Fucking Christ. If you guys would actually drop cash to fly out to a little card shop for a tournament, I will be so fucking amazed, that I will pick you up from the airport, drive you to my house, give you food, drive you to the event, drive you back to my house, give you food, and then drive you to the airport...But nobody can really be that moronic.  Rolling Eyes

If you read my previous post, I'm in the process of moving (from the West Coast back to the East Coast, my small amount of stuff is getting UPS'd or brought back by family when they visit).  So I'm more so making a stop on the way back while I'm moving.  May as well have some fun, right?

So... you're letting me crash at your place Caboose?

My offer is only open to people who are purchasing a plane ticket solely to play at Kent's tournament. People driving three hours from Garden City don't qualify, because I have and will again make that drive to play at Pandemonium.

That's right.  I was mistaking this with the GP which I hope will be open to us not wanting to destroy our wallets on a hotel.

Of course, my horse. For the GP my house is open to the Pandemonium/RIW crowd, Mr. Nightmare, Bardo, Roland Chang & Paul Mastriano (if they need it)...hmm, I think I'm forgetting someone.

You're buying a plane ticket to play at a hole-in-the-wall card shop? What time do you want your shoes shined?

Whatev, I'll let you stay. Don't be a fucking slob though, or my mom will rip your nuts off.  Wink

I will be making a brief non-Vintage cameo this Sunday. Get your keychains and cup coozies while they last!

(I should probably test, but where's the fun in that?)

Peace,
Dave
