At what cost comes a draw 2 instant for 1U? Clearly, Wizards has provided many spells which dig for 1U, and has even recently printed a flashback draw spell at 1U. But putting two cards into your hand for 1U at instant speed has yet to be done. In that light, I present the following. The flavor, of course, is a Wizard madly charging at card advantage, without much regard for quality of card, or the impact it may have on his library.

Hyperfocused Research
1U
Instant
Reveal the top seven cards of your library. An opponent chooses two cards. Put the chosen cards into your hand and put the rest on the bottom of your library.
"Card Advantage. Card Advantage. CARD ADVANTAGE!"

Hrm.  I really don't have a handle on this.  You get the two worst cards from the top 7, but it's technically card advantage.

I guess this would be fine; is there a way to rework it to provide more interactivity and skilltesting like Truth or Tale and Fact or Fiction?

Skill testing? Let the caster choose any number 7 or greater. Then by depleting the library you might be able to set up a recursion win (although you'd probably need to use cards in hand as I suspect you'd get 2 Islands)

I really like the current version of the card, but I'm worried it feels too black, because it reads like a black card to me. Well, card draw is bluie, but the whole "remove cards" part sounds black.

You could do something like:

Reveal the top 6 cards of your library.  Target opponent divides those cards into 3 piles of 2 cards each.  Choose 1 pile to go to your hand.  Then that opponent chooses 1 pile to be removed from the game and 1 pile to go to the bottom of your library.

Though I guess that kinda gets rid of the whole "not paying attention to what you are getting" thing.

The original card is fine. This type of card selection is always blue. The only change I could see is putting the cards on the bottom of your library instead of removed from the game, but removed from the game is perfectly fine as is.

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.

You are right. Perhaps the cards should be put on the bottom of the library rather than removed from the game -- it would make it much more useful in limited play, and that would be important if the card were to occupy an uncommon slot.

SO it's "1U: draw 2 lands, impulse away all my good stuff"? Definitely fair.
