A top-8 was played after the 7 rounds of swiss - Alluren won, and Survival/Shapeshifter ended 2nd.

I got beaten by the Alluren deck first round of top-8 (me playing mono red goblins)

Wow, decks like enchantress and full eng breakfast at the top tables!  Seems like a thriving meta.

He ran 4 "Juzam's" actually: 1 Djinn + 3 Plague Slivers. 

Still, it's pretty cool to see an updated "Legend Black" finish so highly.
(Yes, I admit the comparison to "Legend Black" is a little fast and loose, but this is closer to the archaic Sui Black than any deck I've seen in a long time.)

I think we should all sponsor a trip for Herbig to Europe. I can't see Solidarity losing a match in this meta with him as the pilot.

To be blunt, I can't see many combo decks at all. Like one in the top 25?

2 Combo decks in the "top 11" 1 Aluren and 1 Solidarity.. but I was also expecting to see more combo, especially Iggy Pop

I wouldn't call that a great list. It's got 3 nights whispers, and is missing tainted pact, even though it's looking like the manabase is still pact friendly. Plus, only 1 living wish. There's only like... 4 tutor effects in that whole maindeck altogether.

Wow, that looks like a pile to me.

Plus, no Salvagers in the side, and stuff like Platz, Akroma, and no way to fight the graveyard hate. *sighs* Not that great.

I think the most surreal thing is when a complete stranger you meet at a tournament hears your name and goes "Oh, yeah. I've read your stuff." It's kind of weird, yet feels good all at the same time.

There's also an IGG version that wound up in the 21th place playing Death Wish and Careful Study. There were a lot of Forces there though, so that could explain the lack of combo.

Yeah, you might be right, I didn't notice the lack of Wishes/Pacts,. That makes me hope...
