For quite some time now, I have been using the site "essentialmagic.com" for a deck generator, and occasionally, I lurk around and view others' decks when I am bored. Today, after I had finished my usual Add/Remove cards from a deck I had been using, I decided to look at some of the other Vintage decks, I scroll a bit to find this: "MeanDeck Sligh [Tournament Quality]" by mtgpro1. Just by reading that, you can already tell that it is going to be bad. While the page loaded, all sorts of ridiculous thoughts crossed my mind on what I was going to see. Hoping that it would soon appear to be a joke, unfortunately, I was wrong. http://essentialmagic.com/Decks/View.asp?ID=524017The poster claims that it was created by Steven Menendian, or "Menemdian" as he typed it, so that makes this deck the real deal, right? It gives the most minor description of the decklist that you will ever see, and says that it is in fact the best deck that you will ever see. Obviously, that is correct. I figured I would post it here to give you guys a good laugh, because it sure as hell did for me. I must give props to Meandeck for creating the sickest fucking deck EVAR, even if you took no part in it.

The entire deck is clearly well thought out, I mean, look at that sideboard!
EDIT: I was unaware of your Tarpan/Taiga tech in the board, fortunately, that didn't get leaked also, or else you would have yourselves a bit of a problem.

Where are the Brainstorms? Meandeck Sligh would have at least four, and maybe some AK's.

I think its pretty obvious that SmeMMen didn't build it--it has exactly 0 Misdirections and 0 Gemstone Mines.

Wow, Steve has really lost his ability to build original decks.
Sligh, Steve, really?

It said that he chose to keep it mono red for "consistan tsy", so OBV, no Brainstorms. I like the part where it says that it takes a lot of "$$$" and "skills" to play, because Sligh is just that.

I am begining to think that this was a joke by the poster, because the user is has joined just two days ago, and the description is just, how should I say this... ridiculous.
However, there have been countless number of decks like this, just not to the same degree, posted on that site before, so the person may very well be stupid enough to lable his deck with "Meandeck" and play Sligh in general.

Honestly guys, you're missing the tech. Matchup analysis:
Stax (5c, uba, etc.): The deck runs power and simian spirit guides to give it game under trinisphere/sphere of resistance. Even after your opponent starts locking down with tangle wires, you have enough creatures to keep one or two open for swinging each turn. It's a tough matchup, but you can pull it out, especially if you get a good draw. Probably about 80-20
Gifts: Goblin Grenade really pulls its weight here. Use the spirit guides and artifact mana to power out 2-3 creatures fast, then fire a grenade in their face in response to the deck going off. If they counter it, you follow up with a fireblast. The overwhelming amount of massive burn should quickly take the gifts deck down before they have time to respond. If they run ETW, don't be afraid to play on the defense and just block while throwing burn at the dome. This matchup is easily 90-10, but it drops to 70-30 if they're running 3+ copies of ETW
Control Slaver: You have burn to hit the welders, so that's not a problem. If you see a mindslaver come out, dump your burn to the dome before your next turn, and you'll be fine. Your creatures can't hurt you, so your opponent can't use your deck too badly against you. One of the easier matchups, this is probably around 95-5
Long (grim, pitch, etc.) Strip mine is key here. They run a light land base, so nail a land with strip mine and clean up while they struggle for mana. It's not easy, and not drawing strip mine means you have to rely on the grenade/fireblast backup plan. You can usually race the combo though, so you'll be OK. One of the toughest matchups for the deck, around 60-40
Fish and TMWA: Just burn their creatures and swing for the win. I've tested over 100 games, and haven't lost yet. You have faster mana than them, so it's totally easy. 100-0
Turbo-great wall: This one's tough, because you need to save burn for the donated jackal pup, but you also need to throw the burn to the head for the kill, or you can't race the combo I'm still looking for sideboard tech to win this one, because I'm definitely under 50-50. Probably 30-70 his favor
Turbo-mudhole: Around 50-50, the mudhole is an absolutely devastating play. If you've used your strip mine, you can't get it back. Luckily, the combo is pretty slow, so you can still race

Smmenykins wouldn't know how to cast burn spells if you held a gun to his head. He'd be like 'I HAVE SO MANY INSANE OPTIONS, WHICH ONE DO I PLAY?!' when referring to Lightning Bolt versus a Goblin Cadet.

Given that Team MeanDecks stab at U/W Vial Fish was incomplete ( by two cards if I remember correctly ), I highly doubt that Steve would even bother with a Sligh deck. It's a funny thought, MeanDeck even bothering with a Sligh deck heh. The more I think about it the more I laugh at the notion. Then again, what if MeanDeck actually took a stab at it?...maybe it's the new guy who joined MeanDeck that build it?!!!!!
Michael.

Guys, seriously, Team Meandeck isn't JUST Stephen Menendian. This is a deck that beats, and as good as Steve is at turning men sideways, there are FAR more skilled people on the team for that job. Obviously a deck this full of hot men could only have come from Rian Litchard.

I LIVE for swinging with men.
However, my version of Sligh would have white men in it.

@ Hi-Val, no it wasn't sarcasm. I was genuinly laughing at the way you put that. I guess there are some terms in Vintage that make me laugh. For instance, in an interview with a player I had done, it was stated "..and no one wants to pay $20 to be an Ornithopter (0/2 drop)", now that had me laughing all night long. I had never heard that refernce before and it makes me laugh some times. No offence I hope man, and it would be great if you would take some time meaybe to do an interview as well =).
cheers michael
