So, I'm curious: Which one would you pick? The only criteria are that it's printed, Legendary, a creature, and legal in Vintage. I'm basing my choice(s) primarily on flavor, and partly on the actual card -- the latter has to back up the former. If the card itself is completely wimpy, underwhelming, and/or wrong, that knocks it out of contention. This is more of a boolean than a relative thing, though, e.g. "does, or does not, the card do a good job of portraying the flavor and badassity of the Legend"; either yes, or no, and not "how awesome is the card". Beyond that, the flavor decides. (It's complicated, though. For example, Konda is made infinitely more awesome by being indestructible than if the card were pretty much anything else -- maybe because in this case, it's the card itself which reveals how badass he really is, which I might not otherwise have guessed).
Personally, I'm having a tough time deciding between Baron Sengir and Dakkon Blackblade. If you put a knife to my throat, I'll be scared shitless, and will, unless you are or are affiliated with Baron Sengir, probably choose Dakkon Blackblade.
Most heavily under consideration were:
Baron Sengir Dakkon Blackblade Rakdos the Defiler Nicol Bolas Spirit of the Night
Also notable contenders:
Vaevictis Asmadi Chromium Sol'Kanar the Swamp King Shauku, Endbringer Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind Konda, Lord of Eiganjo
I could also see people suggesting, but wouldn't myself pick:
Visara the Dreadful Rorix Bladewing Arcanis the Omnipotent Eron the Relentless Jaya Ballard, Task Mage Memnarch Atogatog Borborygmos
Lastly, the reaction these two elicit is, rather than "awesome", "ugh":
Akroma, Angel of Wrath Phage the Untouchable
The inherent tragedy of the situation is that the title should, by all rights, have belonged to none other than Lim-Dul the Necromancer, possibly the baddest-ass dude in the Multiverse short of Yawgmoth (who else is there: Gix? Volrath? Leshrac?). But then, Wizards actually printed him, and completely botched it. The card is weak, predictable, boring, and utterly underwhelming. I wish they could unprint and/or reprint him to correct this mistake.
Also: Just because Blind Seer is actually Urza, does not make him badass.
So, sound off. I didn't explicitly make this a poll, because I don't think it's possible to accurately predict and condense the likely opinions, but I'll be very surprised if the popular choice is neither Black nor a Dragon.

Sengir would be a lot cooler if he were a vampire. Without that, he's just a flashy-dressed guy in Homelands. Dakkon? Yeah, he's cool.
Sol'Knar, however, is also pretty badass. He's well-costed, and has a lot of flavor. He rules the swamps so he can wander through them without worrying about being blocked, and he can reward your use of evil magic.
AtogAtog. We prefer not to speak of such things.
Squee has excellent flavor -- small and himself harmless, but the fact that he can't die comes in handy. You can keep selling him to those folks at the Bazaar, and they just don't seem to learn.
Finally, Teferi. He's a strong card and really makes the opponent's day miserable. He's also the physical manifestation of Wizards' hating green. He's something of a Green-Sucks-Elemental. You combine City of Solitude and King Cheatah into, both tournament-played cards, into a form which is stronger than either one. And the result? It's blue. It just goes to show you that if you make cards in another color powerful, they become blue.

Akroma Angel of Wrath, one badass lady in play. You have a very high chance of winning. Teferi Mage of Zhalfir is also nice. like eot cast, resolve you have a creature that will irritate your opponent.

Personally, I think Memnarch is a home-run here. His artifact stealing ability is not only useful (and makes him played at least a little in every format), but it matches his flavor very well. Also, let us not forget that this guy was pretty instrumental in Mirrodin Block, which changed much of how the game is played.

I'm pretty sure Baron Sengir is a Vampire, just his creature type is lacking. (Hopefully, they'll fix this when they finally get around to that big creature type cleanup they've been talking about -- anyone know when that's due? Along with other such luminaries as Eladamri not being an Elf, Karona not having a creature type so you can't swing for 8, Shapeshifter not being a Shapeshifter, and upon searching Gatherer for the phrase "goblin mutant", finding several other cards which have the creature types Goblin Mutant, and also the card Goblin Mutant, which doesn't).

I have to vote for Teferi. I started playing in Mirage and he was the most awesome character in the flavor text. And his card clearly shows you how he is the Master of Time.

Teferi. Multani. Akroma. Lin Sivvi. There's probably a bunch more but I can't think of them.

Jaya Ballard, Task Mage. One of the first characters to make me care about flavor text, and one of the best characters in the game. I think one of the things that makes Jaya awesome is that she wasn't all powerful, but she was cool anyway.

If we can only choose from the list, I pick The Swamp King.
But, I remember in all the old-old-school Zoo decks, Stangg used to come in to totally destroy the mirror. He's my favorite.

If we can only choose from the list...
Of course not. Those were just the ones I thought of myself, off the top of my head. This was the very reason I didn't make it a poll -- because it's impossible to get all of these wacky choices like Squee, Stangg, Ramses Overdark, Cthulhu et al in a list.

I'm going to have to go with Nicol Bolas.
He's so powerful, that if he hits you, you suffer amnesia of all the spells you ever learned and have to relearn them.
Plus he's pretty fun to wip at people with Zirilian of the Claw (who while I admittedly love, doesn't really have much flavor).

Screw the wizard adept, the Corrupted is a badass. I'm not too afraid of pissing off big scary guys like Lord of Tresserhorn or other brutes--but pissing off a wizard is the worst idea you could ever have.
