My friend and I have been working on a new type of combo. It uses welding jar+myr retriever+ grinding station/ disciple of the vault. Combo 16 4x Disciple of the VAult 1x Grinding Station 3x Blasting Station 4x Myr Retriever 4x Welding Jar Draw/Tutor 15 4x Brainstorm 1x Vamp 1x Demonic Tutor 1x Ancestrall Recall 1x Tinker 2x Infernal Tutor 4x Thirst of Knowledge 1x Enlightened Tutor Disruption 8 4x Duress 3x Mana Leak 2x CoW Plan B 1 1x DSC/Sundering Titan Mana 20 1x Mana Crypt 1x Mana Vault 1x Sol Ring 2x Wasteland 1x Stripmine 1x Lotus 1x Pearl 1x Sapphire 1x Jet 4x Underground Sea 2x Gemstone Mine 4x Polluted Delta The basics of the combo is that you sacrifice myr retriever by blasting stations affect and it deals one damage. Then regenerate him withe the Jar and repeat. Each time the retriever goes to the graveyard it returns the welding jar to your hand and you can play it again. Sac the jar for the retriever then sac the retriever w/ blasting station making a loop. The Blasting Station deals infinite damage! It is also capable with decking with the grinding station. You may also do the combo with two jars and isntead of the retrievers, and a disciple instead of the stations. The deck is fairly consistant due to its mass amounts of search. Also, if the combo dies you can always use plan B and tinker up a DSC or Sundering Titan . We threw in the CoW for a waste/strip lock down. The only problem is that it is a little vulnerable and we don't know if The Duresses/Leaks will cut it. It would be greatly appreciated if you would give us sugestions and comments on the deck. Thank you!!

I hope CoW means Chain of Wapor because it doesn't look like you have anything to deal with a resolved Null Rod (aside from a Tinker back-up plan). So maybe that is something to think about.

I hate to inform you of this, but none of the combo's you've listed work...at all.
If you sacrifice a creatrue to blasting station ( or to anything) you do not get to regenerate it.

Also, if you regenerate the retriever you don't get the welding jar back

I dont think that i was clear enough on the combo. Tap blasting station to sac the Retriever, 1 damage. Regenerates Retriever w/ welding jar, then, b/c th Retriever went back into play the blasting station untaps. Tap the Station again, sending the retriever to the graveyard dealing 1 more damage. As the retriever dies, the jar goes back to your hand. You then play the jar again, regen the Retriever again, sacing it again dealing 1 damge. Repeat until player dies. Why wouldn't this work?!?!?!?!?!?

OK.....if you sacrifice a creature to any spell or ability you do not get the chance to regenerate that creature because sacrificed creatures cannot be regenerated.
Also if for example Myr Retriever would be destroyed by a lightning bolt, then you use welding jar to regenerate it . Instead of going to the graveyard, Myr Retriever gets regenerated and his ability to gget an artifact back never happens.
So not only can you not regenerate a sacrificed creature, but even if you could the combo does not work because regenerating the Myr Retriever would not trigger its going to graveyard ability because regeneration keeps it in play.
I fully understand what you are 'trying' to do, the rules however do not allow what you are trying to do, because I'll say it again : YOU CANNOT REGENERATE A SACRIFICED CREATURE and A REGENERATED CREATURE DOES NOT GO TO THE GRAVEYARD NOR DOES IT TRIGGER GRAVEYARD FROM PLAY ABILITIES.
I'm not trying to be rude by using caps, just completely , blatantly pointing out exactly why what you are trying to do does not work.
Edit* Here is the offical rules on regeneration :
419.6b Regeneration is a destruction-replacement effect. The word “instead” doesn’t appear on the card but is implicit in the definition of regeneration. “Regenerate [permanent]” means “The next time [permanent] would be destroyed this turn, instead remove all damage from it, tap it, and (if it’s in combat) remove it from combat.”
Now I could not locate rules for Sacrificing cards, but sacrificing is not the same as destroying, and therefore you cannot regenerate a sacrificed creature because regeneration only prevents destruction not sacrificing.

In short, sacrificing is different from destruction.
From the Comprehensive Rules: "Sacrificing a permanent doesn't destroy it, so regeneration or other effects that replace destruction can't affect it."

Some of this was covered recently in the Rules forums for Regenerating Tokens. Other than concerns with maindeck Null Rods or Kataki (both of which are relatively common), you just gotta get another angle at the combo. Mesuthelahn had a thread in the Vintage forum of a deck like this last year or so. (fun with Mirroden Block artifacts and Metalworker.) EDIT: I tried to find link, but couldn't. I thought it was Mesuthelahn, but I could be wrong. SkullClamp, Retrievers, Conjuror's Bauble, Time Walk, Krark Clan Ironworks, etc.... Edit #2: Found it: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=24073.0

Lotus, that other deck is just fine, but posting it might be counter productive to getting this guy to understand why his deck doesnt work.

replacing the welding jars with Krark-Clan Ironworks will give you a working combo: Sac Retriever 1 for 2 mana, take retriever 2 back from the yard in your hand, then play it with the 2 mana you got from KCI and sac it to get retriever 1 back.
