Tragic Ambitions {1} ( {B} / {W} )
Enchantment
As Tragic Ambitions comes into play, search your library for any number of enchantments and put them in your hand.
At the end of turn, you may pay 2 life for each enchantment you control. If you don't, sacrifice all enchantments you control except for Tragic Ambitions.

"Any number" seems rather ridiculous. In theory, I could use this to tutor (and draw), I dunno, 18 enchantments from my deck for a mere 2 mana to, say, feed through Mongrel. And that's just the first thing that comes to mind - there's bound to be stuff that's actually scary.

Why not something like:

Quote
Tragic Ambitions  1(B/W)
Enchantment
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may search your library for an enchantment card and put it in your hand.
At the end of turn, you may pay 2 life for each enchantment you control. If you don't, sacrifice all enchantments you control except for Tragic Ambitions.

That's still a free draw per turn!

I oringinally though of putting them into the graveyard, but then I realized you are in idiot if you put 20 enchantments in your deck just so you can use a combo like that; you'd have non consistancy.

Maybe I should change it to up to 5?

Isn't there some white card like Three Dreams or something.  4 mana sorcery search for 3 auras?  this is 2 mana and you want to let it go for 5?!  Remeber that this can chain into itself (ie get your other 3 copies of this card after you play the first one).

Asside from the strict card advantage problem (as in, you never actualy intend on playing the cards you get... just discarding them to Tog or something), you also have the issue that this card can easily solve its own drawback by getting an enchantment to remove itself (see: seal of cleansing).

I can't think of a card off the top of my head, but I'm sure theres got to be an enchantment that can return this to your hand.

The original idea isn't an enchantment; it's a Sorcery with a crappy drawback made into an enchantment.

I hate the original idea. I love Bram's version. I think it's perfect as is. (Id set the casting price at BW.)

Yeah, I don't really understand the hybrid mana.  If this card had been presented at {1} {B} , I think everyone would have pitched a fit about the color, and with good reason.  Hybrid cards are not the same as gold cards.  They do things that either color could do alone.

yeah about the 1B.  I thought of another awsome combo with this card.  For Legacy (or maybe even vintage) you could run this as an alternate Reainmator win.

Enchantments:
4 Animate dead
2-4 Necromancy

4 Zombie Infestiation
4 Sacromancy
4 Tragic Ambition

Turn 1: Petal land, Rit, Tragic Ambition, Zombie infestation

Make 10 2/2's
